You sound like such a caring, amazing nurse ❤️ lately I’m looking into starting an RN program, but I get scared when I see the negative videos. It’s good to see a positive and the good thing is you can do SO much with an RN degree. And one thing I always think to is how valuable I probably will be to my parents when they get older too. Being able to take care of them if that time comes one day, will be so meaningful to me. They will never have to find a “nurse”.

After RN, I want to get my BSN and then possibly my MPH (Masters of Public Health). I also have 2 small kids so definitely challenging but I keep telling myself it’s going to be so worth it in the end. I’m very grateful to be able to get all the financial help I have though and the support I have because I definitely need it with 2 littles! Can’t wait to be an RN 🎉

Thank you for clarifying who gets a breast pump! I got one with my first but she was in NICU so I wasn't planning on taking one for baby number 2! That makes total sense! I HIGHLY recommend Earth Mama Nipple Butter! Start using it BEFORE baby is here to soften and moisturize so avoid cracking! Its organic so no harm to baby! Also you can use it as chapstick and I even used it when my daughter had baby acne! Its a MUST!

If dad or anyone else will be sleeping in the hospital overnight they will also need their own bag with a blanket, toiletries and clothes.

OHHH YESSS bring pillow and blanket for dad because hospital blankets are awful and pillows are hard to come by haha. Head phones/ear plugs and eye mask for mom and dad. My husband and I would switch with baby and it helped the person sleeping stay asleep with nurses and doctors coming in!

you sure can work full time while doing pre-reqs. i work full time but i have to take 3 classes instead of what a full time student will take ( 6 classes). it sure does take longer being part time.

When I was an LVN years ago, I worked the night shift which was okay, but my job was an hour and fifteen-minute drive from my house. I'd leave at 5:30pm to get there by 7pm and when I'd get off in the morning, I'd get so sleepy driving home that I'd pull over to take a nap, some days I wouldn't get home until 9:30 or 10am. I'm a new grad RN now, and I'm going to be applying at a nearby hospital about 20 minutes away. Hopefully, if I don't have to leave for work until 6:30pm, and can be home by 8am, then night shift should be a bit more bearable this time around.

I'm a night Shift PSW at a retirement home and I also foster neonadal kittens And I like it because I can bring my neonatals with me to work. And take care of them around-the-clock cause really Who honestly sleeps during the daytime on night Shift, I also have 6 kids. My sleep consist of 4 to 2 hour sleeps If i'm lucky I get six hours of full sleep It's probably not the best thing for you , but it works

I agree 100% with this exam issue where people are loud packing up and everything. I can’t take exams with others either. It’s extremely difficult to focus for me as well.
