As for me, my advice, unless you get a full ride scholarship at a university, is to attend your local community college and graduate with your Associates Degree, then transfer into an affordable university as a junior to work towards and earn a Bachelor’s Degree (and go to graduate school if you wish). A huge boatload of money can be saved this way plus you have smaller class sizes at the community college, and avoid a lot of the toxic culture. As for me personally, Ivy League is massively overrated and definitely not needed to be very successful. It has way too many students who have an inflated ego and are too full of themselves and let it all go to their heads. As for me personally, I love community college a lot better than university and even learn a whole lot in community college that I even dreaded transferring to a university. To me a class is a class and a degree is a degree. It is all the same material and the same hours of credits no matter if taken at a community college in a quiet very small town, a state university, or even Stanford University or Ivy League. The vast majority of employers do not care what college or university you earned your degree at as long as the school the degree is earned at is accredited. The most important thing is to be your true self and live your dream and your life to the fullest and don’t worry about what others think (work hard and play hard).

Most colleges are more religious than you’d think. Even my 7500 person school has numerous Christian clubs on campus. Christianity isn’t mainstream (yet) on my campus but at this rate it’s headed for a spiritual revival. If you look around closely enough you’d be surprised at the clubs you can find on any campus.

Having a degree or two or three does not mean you have wisdom. Wisdom comes with age and you’re not old enough to have enough wisdom for me to even listen to you. I know of some very intelligent people who had too much confidence in their academic achievements that they thought they were smart enough to figure out mother nature and mother nature won. Mother nature did not care about their degrees. A couple and their toddler child, as well as their dog and a young man who thought he was smart enough to survive in the wilderness without any prior experience all died because of their lack of wisdom to find out ahead of time what they needed in order to survive or in the case of the couple, they were just going hiking, but on a blistering hot day that it would not have been advisable to go hiking. They did not have enough water with them and they died from heat exposure but they were academically smart but lacked wisdom.

I don’t know why everyone rushes to go 100k plus in debt at the Ivies . Unless if your pursuing a career in something specific that requires a degree, you might aswell not bother

Too bad. You weren’t applying to a particular university, but you were simply looking for status. I suspect that many of your schools perceived that. You should look deeper at the schools to which you apply. What is it you want and what school is the best fit? When you identify the best fit for you and communicate that in your interview, you will much more likely be accepted to the school you want.

I'm not in a position to know for sure, but some of the reports I've been getting give a different picture of an Ivy League education today. They were saying that on the radio the average grade point at Harvard is a 4.0. This girl presents herself well, though, and she seems motivated. She seems like the type destined for great success, as far as I know.

I don't know why you showed up on my feed. But Hokkien is not a dying language. It is a common language in Singapore, Philippines, and southern China. Some Taiwanese people can understand Hokkien. It is not a Southeast Asian dialect. It is a Chinese dialect.

I think it’s important to add if you are in a full IB school and have done MYP then you are more prepared for IBDP but switching to IB from another curriculum in the past 2 years of school can be intense
