By the way, shortly after making this video and posting it on my RV channel, I decided to create a channel that focuses on our kappa cars called Northern Utah Kappa Kars. "if i sold" bro its a tool, if you sold it, it means you dont need it. That means you wasted money buying it. Dont make "if" statements about stuff that will never happen. By the time your too old to work and use those tools you probably be too dam attached to them, give it a couple years and maybe then youll start selling them, give it another year or two and then you will have sold off everything. Now you have roughly the same amount of money that you paid for them but in a currency which is HIGH deflated, so really you got 1/3 what you paid for them. Even then, what are you going to do with all that money when you've hit that age, much of it will go to taxes, maybe you can give it to some grandkids, but I'll tell you this, giving away those tools to someone who actually appreciates and uses them but can afford them would be far more worthwhile since it would have a much more positive impact. I have my fair share of attachments to shitty or overpriced items but I don't lie to myself to come up for reasons why I have them. I still have my grandfathers Dremel rotary tool not because it's good or because I could recoup the cost he spent on it, but because it's so shit and scary that it's funny.

Except icon wasn't around in the 80s? Argument seems pretty silly, you buy snap on or mac back then because that was the best quality that you could buy, period. Now with icon, teckton, gearwrench, you get really good quality at a fraction of the price, seems like a no brainer, and when i invest all the money i save by not wasting it on snap-on tools, in 30 years i can just throw my tools in the river and still be miles ahead of the snap-on guy trying to re coup his money.

@@ouRVisionnomadicliving The reasons snap on is worth the price is dwindling. With big box stores and online retailers making easier access to buying and getting things warrantied, manufacturers can improve quality, and value to cost ratio ever widening. The only reason snap on holds value is because the people in the system must maintain the prices. If people break the illusion of snap on, the resale value will crash. Let’s be honest, the price isn’t just for quality, it’s prepaid insurance.
