The original of this song was done by the late Rev Josiah Jesse Ransome-Kuti. It will be nice if he is given credit in these renditions. "Ise Oluwa, ki le baje o" means, the Work of the Lord will not fail (or will not be destroyed). It is a proclamation.

The Story typed above is absolutely wrong and an insult to the yoruba language. The song is in Yoruba language of of the many Nigeria languages but unique in itself. It says "Ise Oluwa" - "the work of God" "ko le baje o" - "It cannot be destroyed" "Ise Oluwa" - "the work of God" "ko le baje o" - "It cannot be destroyed". This is the meaning of the Song. Please remove the story of kunta kinte and slavery and south african and the rest it has nothing, nothing what so ever to do with the song, it lyrics and meaning. This is a simple gospel worship song in Yoruba Language talking about how indestructible is the Work of God most High, Thank you.

thanks - I felt it safer to refer to someone else's description so have edited. I have also credited Una May Olomolaiye as the arranger.

Dear CCC My apologies if I made any mistakes - I copied it from somewhere on the web. Have now referenced what I think is a reliable source but I can't personally vouch for it.
