We can all grow things. We can. I grew up mostly without a dad. And he was violent and scarring by the end. It causes me so much trauma, I think it would have been better if he was gone at birth. I grew. I have so many things that my mom taught me that have benefited me to this day. My mom was a bit under protective because she was doing it all. I graduated, got a college education, a firm growth mindset and I grew. But she got sick. And she had a pacemaker at 55 and a stroke earlier than that. But a positive , wise and selfless dad is an amazing, priceless gift to the mother and the children. I think I am one of the luckiest people in the world and so are my children. I wouldn’t stay for meanness, cheating, screaming , a man who picks fights. But having my husband.. he is such a blessing to my life . My kids take him for granted, they don’t know another way. But I know another way. And I am just so grateful for him and I just feel so lucky . I know I could grow the kids without him. But thanks to him, I don’t have to. And I don’t have the struggles my mom did. She sacrificed her life, her health, her everything for us to grow . But I can still be healthy and enjoy life and not grind myself into dust while raising children with a wonderful person. I am thankful every day.

Yes! Thank you so much for sharing. I definitely agree that Dads or Men are not the only ones who can make things grow. I just find it interesting to sometimes contemplate what relationships 'could' be like if we understood how our different tools or perspectives could benefit the team of marriage or family. Lol right? - without the alcohol, emotional abuse, patriarchy, religious abuse - all that stuff. So glad you found a man who loves you and your family the right way :-)
