As a public school, we must adhere to the public (common) good. Restrictions on the individual’s desires are routinely observed for the health and safety of the public. Vaccines are required in schools just as traffic laws are required on our roads. Speakers cited sources; however, we have become painfully aware that all sources can’t be trusted. The CDC is the agency with the expertise and scope to evaluate this issue and their recommendations should be followed. Religious beliefs vary from between peoples and individuals, therefore they should be respected for the individual and groups of individuals that share those beliefs, but not accepted as dictates for the community at large. I applaud the decision to mandate masks in Centerville Schools. The inconvenience of wearing a mask is justified when compared with the possible death of a member of the community. Another issue alive in the community is teaching “patriotic” history, or as it is more commonly known “propaganda”. As a public educational agency we are responsible to teach truth and facts to the best of our ability. It is common practice in authoritarian states to dictate what will be taught. If “For and by the people” is to upheld, then our imperfect efforts to teach the truth must be maintained if we are to ever form a more perfect union. Thank you for your consideration.

Remote learning should continue as an option for the school year of 2021/2022. Opening up completely with Covid-19 and it’s variants will not go away even when many have been vaccinated. Many students will not be vaccinated. And all day masking and social distancing should still be in affect. I strongly encourage please to consider keeping the option for students to go remote also.

Our public schools only care about making our children fear the governments endless invisible enemies. Nuclear Holocaust, Iran, hole in the ozone, SARS, Swine flu, war on drugs, global warming histaria, USA funded co Intel pro terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, CCParty, Corona virus. Anyone else notice a pattern of misinformation and propaganda. They continue to use our own fear against us and laugh at us as they pocket our money and mislead our children. Maybe we should hold these established liars responsible for forcing other to believe there nonsense.

You people have lost your reasoning. The School Superintendent and four school board members just fired NINE Special Needs teachers but it's okay to keep football games and buy more Chromebooks. You have just turned all logic on its head. Take away from the special needs kids and give Chromebooks to everyone. How are you going to teach my child to read without his teacher and thrown into a classroom twice the size? Why in the world did Sarah skip my letter????? I worked very hard on that and I timed it over and over to get it below three minutes. I sent it in on Sunday afternoon. On Monday she sent me a reply saying she would read my letter before the board. But when the time comes she fills the time with other letters that have NOTHING to do with the vote!!! Some of the letters she picked were way over 5 minutes! Now I didn't have a voice before the vote. Everything about the cuts, the vote you did, firing NINE Special Needs teachers, keeping football games going and buying Chromebooks...It all seems so strange to me, you call yourselves "Educators". I don't think you are anymore. I sent an email to Sarah asking why she didn't read my letter but I have yet to get an answer. Who made that decision to take away my voice before the vote???

What a season

For my first grade birthday party, I had a booklet open for people to sign up. Unfortunately, Mrs. Henly, a teacher from nursery school showed up and said "Melanie Griffith" is your friend. She had her sign over everyone else. Some 104 people did show up at Showbiz. Aaron Freeman said these are all my friends. I got knocked down by Shane Pritchard who asked me to name everyone. Well, I started by pointing at the edge and naming people. He said "you lied" and said "never point again."
