I stumbled across this video because I had problems with mine too. Whenever I hook it up to a mixer or even directly to a source (MacBook pro), it is very quiet, and then if I try to turn up the volume, I get a loud humming. This happened in August 2024, 2 days before a gig. After a while, it seemed to go back to normal, and start working again. Now the same has happened in October 2024. I have submitted a support ticket as I saw the protection light come on briefly. Luckily I’m still under the 3-year warranty. But to be honest, I’m thinking of just returning it and getting my £700 back. As it’s causing me no end of stress. I have submitted a ticket to LD systems and waiting to hear back, but they said the same thing “send it in” in August, before it miraculously started working normally again. I have checked the manual digitally by looking up “protection”. It appears 2x but nowhere does it seem to explain how the protection system works. Honestly, I have been at this for 1h 15 minutes now, trying different combinations. This is eating into my practice time. No actually it’s putting me off altogether. I shouldn’t be having to deal with this. Music Matters from who I purchased it weren’t able to diagnose the issue, only referred me to LD. I can find nothing online about humming issues on this model; so I am unsure whether it’s a problem with the unit itself or simply a protection mode issue. I have similar misgivings about being on a gig and this happening during setup. I don’t know what to expect, and it doesn’t do anything for my confidence. A lot of the things that this guy is describing, I can relate to. So please, commenters, tell us where we could be looking to find this information as everywhere else online I can only find positive accounts. Am I missing something obvious? There is no one from LD on the end of a phone to the all me through. I feel completely isolated in this. And I don’t have a particularly complex setup.

Hey amigo. Thank you for the very informative video. QUESTION… I’m brand new to smokers, but recently picked up a very nice (used) stainless steel, vertical propane smoker (GRAND CAFE Gas Smoker) in excellent condition, but I’m struggling with being able to maintain a constant lower ambient temp (i.e. 225-250 degree range). The ambient temp keeps wanting to eventually climb to 300+ degrees, and so I open the smoker doors every so often, but that’s not really a proper solution…. The gas intake on the smoker itself is set to the lowest setting…. Water pan is good…. I’ve tried dry wood chips vs. soaked wood chips vs. combination there of, but still no dice… there are no flareups either…. I don’t have an actual closable damper, but there is a vent on the top of the smoker, of which I could potentially wrap a bit of foil around one side to damper the air intake (maybe just a bit), but I haven’t tried this yet…. The only other thing I can think of might be to (tighten/close) the valve a bit (on the actual propane tank itself), so that less fuel enters into the smoker. Might that prove be a viable solution??? Any other variables you can think of?... I would be HOME FREE if I could just figure out how to maintain a constant lower ambient temp (i.e. 225-250 degree range). Thanks in advance for any sage counsel or advice. Cheers! 🙂

What about the ease of playability? I have a Martin D-28 12 string that is pretty hard/difficult for me to play. I was told by an accomplished guitar player on KZbin that his Seagull Coastline Cedar 12 plays as easy as a 6 string. I like the sound of his Seagull too. What is your opinion concerning the ease of playability between the two(2) guitars? Thanks

Tried this way of changing strings for the first time last night.... best method I've tried, it's quick and easy,no string slippage plus I feel I didn't have to stretch the strings in as much and they were keeping tune fine 🙂

Playing so loud that the lead vocalist is drowned out and can’t be heard is noise. Real musicians play with dynamics and sensitivity.

One suggestion… one way to avoid happening is to loosen the strings when traveling with these. You can easily tune back up when you arrive.

Journals of Washboard Jackson Had this happened when I was in my teens and twenties, I would've set up close to the mic with my washboard. I simply wasn't ready for the rapid shift that happened. We went from a blue duo (for ten years) to a trio with the addition of Jeff Stone for another few years and then BAM!..... it became a 7pc Band. Well, everything for a reason🤷🏾♂️ We're right where we're supposed to be. . . . . Still missing it🙏🏾
