Can you make a short showing what the crochet shortcuts mean .I'm new to crocheting but I want to be able to read patterns

I am in a small wool-craft meet up every month and the second youngest. The old ladies told me they do sell their stuff at handcraft markets without profit just to get stuff off their hands, socialize etc. Which I can get behind. But as a business it is really not worth it. I work on stuff for premature and newborn babies myself to donate to hospitals myself since often young parents are surprised by baby sizes, don't know how quick they cool out or have no support. Just for fun tho, no pressure

The only way to actually do it is 3 times the cost of your materials and not on time. Just enjoy the time it takes as your hobby. 1 third to replace your yarn. 1 third to put away for a rainy day. 1 third to add to your stock and tools. And just Enjoy what you love doing. You won't get rich, but it will keep you in yarn. 😊❤🎉😂

I love teaching it and doing it to relax. But as far as selling…you’ll never make enough to cover the time you spend and the materials. I make gifts to give away but profits never come from what I make.

The blanket I am currently working on cost $36 in yard alone! I’ve put in 10 hours already and am only 1/5 done with it. Even if I charged 5 dollars an hour for labor that would still be almost $300 for a single blanket.
