Carburetor rebuild time. Once they dry out with bad gas, they don't come back. The good news is that the 429 is one of the cheapest ways to get to 400hp there is. 9:1 compression, a little head work and a cam with good exhaust will do it.

If I saw out the carb the rev limit (aka governor) wouldn’t work isn’t that a problem? Can’t the engine blow up
@LilBJessup24 күн бұрын
@@burstable252 yes the engine can blow up with the governor removed, but you gain more rpm from removing the governor, it’s a win lose, just don’t hold it wide open and it will be find, but send it!

Tires should be mounted on rims 2 inches wider than the tires. Switch to 6 inch tires instead of 5 inch. Low air pressure, around 5 to 7 lbs. The torque converter is eating horse power, use a disc clutch. If you're doing oval tracks you need stager in your tires or it will push thru the turns. Spray your tires with wd40 after cleaning them to keep them soft. Your kart looks like an old Rupp Dart or Bug. Oh, and get rid of that choking muffler. Just trying to be helpful, not picking at you. Have fun.
@LilBJessupАй бұрын
@@4793bigdaddy all good knowledge, my track is a road course style dirt track, the tires that were on the kart were over 30 years old.

Hey I just watched your video about getting plates for your F-250 in Wisconsin all you got to do is go to the DMV and they will run event make sure everything's kosher with it if it clears then they send you to the state troopers who will do an inspection on it if that passes then they will send you back to the DMV and give you a clean title

On the original Belt Guard there are a piece of flat bar which protrude from the end of the guard - Top and Bottom - these have a small kink at the ends- when the clutch is disengaged - they keep the belt narrowed hence push the slack AWAY from the engine pulley in order to avoid frictional belt grip

That's a lot of mod's which you blithely characterize as (9:23) "so in a means not to complicate things too much" and then do incredibly. I'm sure it's an amazing system and it may even find it's way onto my machine at some future date when I know as much as you about Wheel Horse anatomy but I'm more of the school of "Let's increase the spring tension on that idler and see how she runs without a spring that sounds like it was meant to close the screen door at grandma's back porch." Good Lord I've seen Portugese homes with less ornamental iron work! Some but not Many mind you. Is that the electric fuel pump right in front of what I think yer sayin' is shootin' out sparks like? Keep the helmet on and maybe invest in some Kevlar & Asbestos items!! YeeHaw! Yer Missis is lookin' Askance at the door there like maybe she might hose you down before you're allowed back inside! Good luck! Enjoyed the video! Keep 'em comin'
