Who had a better understanding of the system? Frank Zappa or George Carlin?

Probably Carlin, but they both had their different perspectives trying to change things. It's ignorant to smash it down into a competition. I've always thought of Zappa as the Carlin of music lmao.

" To have a democracy where one man's vote equals another man's vote; you have to one man's education equal to another man's education." Well; looking at some of the comments here; many 'can't even speak their own fkn language." For me; Frank's takes on subjects are just one side of an Adult conversation. Of course; the other side is let down in the usual, average way; by the average interviewer coming up short... because he is 'doing an interview'.

Welll Brother: Here's about 80 albums for you. Say Picasso, Stravinsky and Zappa in the same sentence and Mean it. A century from now he will still be studied. If you don't know Zappa; you don't know music. Now this may sound harsh; but this Music does Not mess around. This is Real Music Written by a Real Composer and played by Real Musicians. The Trick is to be a bit disciplined and do nothing but sit and listen; because if you do other things while this is playing; it will only sound like noise. You have to follow each instrument as each has a Real Part to play. If you really want to know Frank; you could start at the beginning because you won't hear anything like this anywhere else: The Same damn songs over and over yet fantastically altered = AAFNRAA!! ps: The Lyrics are only a good story. Excellent stories ! These are movies for your ears and they've kept me going for 50+ years. ps: (sorrry to write a bible...) I could rant for as long about the ZPZ dvd and the ten times I've seen Dweezil ! Go see ZPZ. He is on tour now.

If he had run for president, he'd most likely been a Ralph Nader type. Frank was a very intelligent man and brilliant in some of his musical ideas. But, he always came across as very arrogant. He suffered from a topic addressed in Thomas Sowell's book Intellectuals and Society. Being an expert in one thing does not deem you an expert on all things. He was a self professed curmudgeon. I always thought he and George Carlin would have hit it off.

He pretty much only spoke about music (few are more knowledgeable), politics (he was VERY informed, and active), and pop culture (a scathing satirist) Zappa was a towering musical genius of the 20th century. In all likelihood, his music and reputation will survive into future centuries (albeit only to those that look to and study the past)

Lol, 🤔. You know,I've had many conversations about Zappa over the course of a lifetime, the man, band and the music. As a music lover and a lifelong self-taught student of all things musical my personal judgment of Zappa on all three levels started probably around 1972 or maybe 73 for myself and other fans, friends and music lovers. I don't mean to come off in a condescending way actually. But I was called out on this thread almost 2 years ago. So naturally I responded. At first I regretted it.But I have come to understand there's two kinds of views about Zappa past and present. The music and Zappa the man. So I probably was very aware of a lot of things concerning Zappa years before you were born.. So no this is not my first rodeo with Zappa. Zappa is like the Slinky that just won't go away.. I disliked his music from the beginning like probably 90% of the people that are not in that certain little niche of his fans vinyl or CD, Bell bottoms or skinny jeans.. Zappa and his band is full of great musicians, very talented players no doubt. But his style of putting his music in a blender is chaotic and classically bad. Literally. That's just my judgment of him. Now I'll let his fans comments represent their self. High eyebrow low expectation weather says of entitlement. The I am so smart and I get it type of fan
