I get that it's a meme but same here, I tried it once and I got bored after an hour in, I did have some fun with it using crossbow and daggers as an Assassin but never hooked enough to go through an entire playthrough with it. With mods like Dismemberment Framework and Precision, they keep me even further away from being John Stealth-Archer.

It's a very satisfying play-style that the game's systems and values encourage and reward but there's always that nagging feeling that a significant part of what the game has to offer is being wasted. Sometimes that ease causes complacency and allows you to bypass certain encounters since you can snipe that Draugr Overlord with a 3.5x range sneak damage bonus using an ebony bow and arrows. The general janky-ness of the melee combat and perceived imbalances with magic don't help matters. I've always felt that frost-based spells are overpowered.

Vanilla melee is trash. Vanilla magic sucks. The Stealth Archer build just made more sense. Today, with thousands of mods, there are way more viable options. You want a real challenge? Pure Mage build, no mods, legendary difficulty. Might as well be Dark Souls.

Idk, pure destruction mage is pretty easy. Get some enchantments to reduce spell cost to or close to 0 and then just stun-lock everyone till they‘re dead. Use some big explosion spells and you don‘t even have to aim properly

I'm working on a thieves guild playthrough and some bandit camp clearings so in the near future

I didn’t have unlimited mana, I used it all up in fact. Bone charms, picking up mana potions, and knowing when to pop a pot will maximize mana use.
