How about talking about how to keep a makers journal?
@PaigeTheFramerАй бұрын
Thanjavur for the idea!
@RavenMeerАй бұрын
Nice, but I am so slow to make decisions I am worried I would stress out the framer.
@PaigeTheFramerАй бұрын
No stress at all! It's our job to narrow things down and to find a good fit. Don't let that stop you!
@RavenMeerАй бұрын
That was very helpful thanks. One more question. Should you stitch along the edge to stop it fraying so you can tug on it more?
@PaigeTheFramerАй бұрын
Hi! It's definitely helpful to hem the cut edges and keeps everything tidy, but it's not necessary. I frame pieces with raw edges most often. Though, it is a treat when one comes in hemmed 😀

Great job. That was weighted slightly on the bottom wasn't it? With more space on the bottom than the top and sides.
@PaigeTheFramer3 ай бұрын
Hi! I think that's just the angle of how I'm holding it. It was mounted evenly on all sides. But I do weigh the bottom on other pieces often.
@simonkramer18663 ай бұрын
Perfect frame for the work there. That was fun watching you both working that out.

Great video. I like the tip of the black substrate for news paper etc. Can you tell me if the self adhesive foam board has to be heated? I had some of my early acrylic on paper develop large air bubbles months after framing. I suspect the paper was expanding and contracting. I was not using a vacuum press or heat. So hinge I hang those now.
@PaigeTheFramer3 ай бұрын
Yes, the board I was speaking of is heat activated. Though, I prefer hinging to heat mounting. So you definitely made the right choice to switch.

How do you protect the glass during freight? Do you have some tips to share
@PaigeTheFramer3 ай бұрын
I sandwich the piece between several layers of cardboard. The most important thing for shipping is to make sure there is no movement inside the package. It needs to be a solid as possible.

Noir means black and film noir are literally dark films. This lends an air of mystery and intrigue. The ball of yarn that you called noir looks like it could be marble with the flecks of color.

I do not like to wear double buttons either. I think the buttons that you used on your sweater go really well, I really like them and it really is a beautiful sweater. I'm going to share what you did in your journal with my daughter. She enjoys journaling and she's very artistic so maybe this will give her some ideas.

Omg, the needlework parade was epic. That piece that looks kind of like tiles?!? ❤❤❤ love it. I imagine that's what your geometric journal patterns would look like worked up into stitching. I can't wait to see what you come up with when you translate one of those into fiber.

Hi! It's hand-held ATG. It's so convenient to use. You can get it from a picture framing supply distributor. It's made by 3M.

so question, why not a clear spacer between the mat and the edge of the frame/glass to gain that height? (Which is what my framer usually does.) Pros? Cons?
@PaigeTheFramer6 ай бұрын
Oh, good question! I will save it for a future video. For me, it's mostly aesthetics. I don't prefer the look of a mat with a spacer, I like one or the other. But as long as the glass is away from the subject, the rest is up to you.
