Please someone explain this to me. I am aware of the story slightly but it’s been so long. I must know.

I think I understand, ancient one being philza, friend is techno, son is Wilbur

This really makes you think about the lore around Phil's character in the DSMP and how tragic it actually is. DMSP Philza is this ancient warrior from the hardcore lands that has fought many wars and even sired a son with Lady Death herself. He calls few his friends, but holds those he does close. He then proceeds to lose practically everything over the course of the DSMP. His son by his hand to stop his rampage. Techno, his best friend, dies irl to cancer. The character dying off to something (I'm unsure what was said if anything). Almost everyone turns against him at one point or another and he's forced out of his peaceful retirement several times to defend his friend(s). Only to end up fleeing the lands of the SMP entirely with what remains of the syndicate and his wife. Gone to unknown lands in hopes of surviving and finding peace. Ballad of the Lonely, truly a fitting title.

I was never a fan of the smp, including techno. And I'm still not. But the fact that he had a community that mourned him so fully, yet without despair. Chanting his name, honoring his legacy. Rejoicing at his life, instead of crying over his death. This is amazing. The amount of his soldiers I hear singing praises in this comment section. True community.
