Hi, am a beginner, like to know how to avoid touching of my left hand palm with the 1st string while playing on 6th string in the second part...pinky on 4th fret... Any solution please?

How do you do the 7&5 together? (B section) - right hand pulls both strings at once no?

Nice performance of the main theme of the song including rasgueo. By the way let me ask a detail: In thumb - index technique, is there a way of supporting the hand, e.g. with the tip of the pincky finger resting on the cap?

Would be nice to see this in super slow motion (not the blurry .25 playback speed) to see exactly what the hand is doing. Is it totally centrifical force of the finger and thumb or is there still some thumb and finger muscles exerting a definitive control?

When you get it going fast it really is powered by the wrist although the thumb does need to stay somewhat stiff and the only real finger movement is the repeated popping out of the middle finger

Such a practical, thorough lesson, with so many on-ramps to learning the piece. I already have a pretty good tremolo technique, and this a good vehicle to put it to the test. Thanks! 👍👍

Now the question is, which do I choose? In my case, started classical tremolo about a year ago, and finally got it down, comes naturally. Do guitarists generally settle into using one or the other, but not both? I know at least one professional classical guitarist, who plays breathtaking classical tremolo, but won’t touch flamenco tremolo, expect only to demo the technique to show students what it is. Do you prefer one technique over the other? When is the flamenco tremolo appropriate, or can it be used wherever there is classical tremolo? Very clear demo, btw. Just subscribed and liked. 👍

It really depends on the rhythm of the piece… Also when you have tremolo on interior strings like the opening measures of Recuerdos for example, it’s definitely more difficult to do Flamenco Tremolo because it does make your fingers “fly“ a little bit more. I have moved all of my nylon string teaching over to another channel for the last couple of years you should check that out: youtube.com/@TheVersatileGuitarist?si=mxCDKpVSbzSEEi26

Scot, I am trying to take advantage of my meter drills. To save time I set the metronome slower than I need and practice, strumming with the first finger, then down and up, with chord changes, then rasquedo strums, 4 and three fingered drills, then switch to 8th notes then back to rasquedo. Next comes the tripplet tremolo, then classical tremolo, finally flamenco tremolo. After that I throw in arpeggios at the same tempo. I take a break, then play a familiar piece of an unrelated piece, then up the tempo on the meter and repeat the drill. What do you think of this attempt?
@williamwhittington7294 Жыл бұрын
Another review of Malaguena and I was counting the rasqueo as 16th notes which was wrong. You simplified it by using 1,2 and 3 with I.
@williamwhittington7294 Жыл бұрын
I reviewed your Malaguena again, man you are solid as a rock.
@williamwhittington7294 Жыл бұрын
I practiced your Malaguena, and I found that I was not doing the rasqueo properly. I was not returning to the fist and not locking all fingers into proper tension before the release. But I will practice that throughout the day. I have to concentrate, otherwise my fingers go wild and hang out into emptiness. But sometimes I right on target. Scot when you are messing up in a certain spot, and you can't seem to get it, is it good practice to leave that piece and return to it later?

why do your chord labels not match some of the chords and sometime you use a different chord label for the same one in the previous bar?? edit here lol: you did this - (Cm9 - Fm9 - Dm7b5 - G7#5) --- (Cm9 - Ebm9 - Ab13 - DbMaj7) --- (Dm7b5 - G7#5 - Cm9 x2)
