I wanted to ask the exact same thing! She has an accent, where it’s obvious that English is not her mother tongue, but she is Asian, I’m assuming, but I would love to know where she is from. I couldn’t decide if it was polite or rude to ask 😂

Here in green bay, we have a cat cafe that helps cats who otherwise wouldn't be adopted. All the proceeds go to help the cats. The cats are friendly and calm, it's not a tourist trap. They genuinely take care of the cats!

too much hype on Japan these days. Even Japanese find japnese food are boring and go for Chinese. Japanese food just look cute and pretty only, not delicious and not healthy.

So glad I still got to go to the real Tsukiji market, before at first they started to limit accass for tourists (have I unintentionally been part of the problem?), en then eventually moved it to Toyosu and turned the remains into a tourist trap....

Number 1 happened to me at a seafood restaurant in Osaka. They had prepares side dishes which were not our favorite ones before we sat down, we refused those ones and asked a staff to ensure they would not be included in the bill. When we were ready to make payment, the bill still included the rejected ones, another staff explained: those side dishes fee like reservation fee "you step into the restaurant, this fee will be on you" 😨 He said: many restaurants this area also charge customers this fee. We didn't accept it, tried to negotiate to remove side dishes out of the bill and fortunately succeeded. Just wonder how many customers couldn't deal with them and had to pay that weird fee. *Note: the main dishes were not worth the price 😢 in terms of flavor or serving size (we previously ate at a seafood restaurant near Shibuya - Tokyo before coming to Osaka, same price but food, service quality much better) We ended up eating in a Sushi restaurant opposite to the above one. So lucky, there was no such thing as "reservation fee". The food was much better, cheaper price and staffs were more supportive.

The problem with free wifi it's rarely there at spots you'll need it most....I'll always use either a pocket wifi or a local data sim.... I do still use that app quite a lot though, for planning routes. While I mostly use Google Maps for that, sometimes Navitime works better, and in some situations it can be handy to keep the route in one app while using Google Maps to look up other stuff.

Wait wait. Ginza for shopping as a top must-see? What a waste of time. Japan and Tokyo have a lot more to offer than just go shopping. 😢 Going shopping is something you can do in any bigger city.

I only have 4 regrets when I was in Japan (I’m below 18 btw) 1. Adult toys and books in almost every store(not restaurants) and had to bleach my eyes multiple times 2. The younger people forgot how to say “excuse me” but an older gentleman was able to say it (I know they are anti-social and everything but at least say 2 words) 3. Taxi is legit like US hospital bills (Edit) 4. The short also said that the city is like a maze, and I would agree
