'I'm going to kill you" And "I'm doing this one on my own" are two of the best lines in all of filming of any kind!

Everyone needs a break and when you do, sit down with another person, wife, friend, etc., and watch an episode of Gun Smoke(there are 1/2 hour versions and full hour ones) in Dodge City, Kansas. The older ones being 30 minutes. Great stories, writing, character actors/actresses that you have seen many times in movies and other shows. The writing is smart and they portray the time of the Old West but not far from 1900. Also, if you like it there are a few other Westerns that bear watching: Lawman( 1/2 hour with great writing and in 29 minutes they start and finish with an ending that ties everything up) with John Russell , taking place in Laramie,Wy., who comes across as one of the top Marshall's of the West, Next Have Gun Will Travel, start's out in Old San Francisco( 60 minutes) a story that's different every time but with a hero/gunslinger who is part intellectual and part historian, who lends himself out for hire for the lowly sum of $2,000.00. Starring Richard Boone who fit's the bill perfect. The Restless Gun, a different state and town every week(30 minutes), a little more lighthearted, with John Payne who has a movie and T.V. background. Playing a G'ovt inspector, who travels and seems to be known by everyone west of the Miss. named Vint Bonner, and the stories range from humorous to serious writing. There's a lot more old Westerns that are shown daily on certain nostalgia channels and it's a chance to sit an escape while watching the good guys beat the bad guys. Give it a shot, it may relax you, while you decide to ride a Stage Coach cross country. Care for a drink Ms.Kitty?

I just watched that episode a few weeks ago. The best ones to me are the 30 minute from the 1950’s.

Poor dialogue between Chester and Dillon, but they were still finding their way back in Season 1 (1956). A great show at its peak.

In Gunsmoke's long history, no other scene better exemplifies Marshal Dillon's faith in Chester more than this one. But why didn't he just tell Chester ahead of time"If he goes for his gun when I turn my back, YELL?"

After seeing action in WWII both Arness and Bronson had a personal knowledge of good and evil. That was reflected in their roles.

Technically, in today's day and age, that would be illegal. Baiting him big time. Great scene though. I don't know about the law back in those days. I bet that baiting had never even been thought of legally. Lol.

Many different locations! The outdoor scenes were filmed in various parts of Arizona, California, Oregon, South Dakota, and Utah, according to Google. Yet the set was located at Melody Ranch Studio in California. 🤔
