Great movie. The only thing that ruined it was the crappy rap music. They should've played period music from that era instead. Seeing them drive around in those vintage cars and hearing rap music in the background just didn't work.

The Great Gatsby underestimates how lavish the real 1920s was with a bizzare format of what lavish looks like. That's right, the 1920s was far more lavish and easy on the eyes. The acting in this movie is an absolute nightmare and I wish they had just made it set in the 2000s. Does a disservice to 1923.

Gatsby didn’t care about any of his wealth, he amassed every bit of it for the sole purpose of lavishing it on Daisy. The music really helps sell the rabid desperation of it all. Gatsby’s entire rise has been building to this precious, fragile moment in time when he can feel complete by loving this woman who isn’t anywhere close to being what she’s become in his head, and on some level, he must know it’s doomed and doesn’t care because he’s in this moment now.

Gatsby was putting too much pressure on Daisy to leave her husband and be with him. He didn't even realize that if she left Tom, she would lose everything. Even your children. Divorce was a big no-no back then. You can't get a divorce without consequences. And in those times, it was not easy to be a woman. The children would stay with her husband and Daisy would be shunned by society.

Anyone else have a Daisy in their life 😂. Like you think you’ll be together then something happens or circumstance always stops it.

The movie Titanic helped my parents find love. As for The Great Gatsby, it gave me a 2nd chance in life.

Why she's cry at the end scene? She got bipolar?
@jakeilano6821
@jakeilano6821 Ай бұрын
No, she's not bipolar. She's crying because Gatsby shows off all his wealth and luxury to her and she realizes she already has all of it except the love for her husband, Tom. If she waited five years for him she could've.

Am I the only one who doesn’t blame Daisy for choosing wealth? She said it herself, being a woman and knowing (during that time) it was hard to make a living and being respected if you don’t have money?

Some people think that gatsby's actions were just as shallow as the other rich folks. But really, for a man who had the ambition of god to give his life effort to one lady is.....its true dedication.

One of my favourite movies. Not just because of the film itself, but also because it shows an era when American’s actually knew how to dress. Nevertheless, Di Caprio’s bottom jacket button should be undone ;)
