I did the bow for many years. 50+ foot ocean racers and Rolex big boat series round the buoys.

Great Doco. So I'm a few months late, but how many Pogo 12.50s are called Hermes? :) How did you guys go against the Pogo 36 Infinity? I seem to remember them being a bit slow perhaps, but I remember being surprised how they kept up with some other 12.50s at times.

" We hit a fucking whale ." Wow..like it's the whales fault . What an ass ! It's now mortally wounded... probably sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Amazing boat, amazing team! Congratulations loved your video (film?!?) it was like sailing with you! Great job! Happy you liked my seas!

Looks like you still have the original short rudder blades. Structure yard has upgraded the rudders on their 1250's to longer foils. Much more control when broad reaching in strong winds.

I enjoyed the RAW, more like this. Everything isn't perfect on a boat; don't be afraid to show it.

Stephen van Egmond thanks for the feedback! Definitely nothing perfect about this footage, but 💯 real. This is how offshore sailing can be some times

@@OceanRacers Yup! I got a nice tour of O Canada from Morgen a few years back, the submarine ambience below decks must make for some long dark nights. F* upwind in 35+!

Cumulous clouds generally mean some form of convection taking place wind and rain... 80 knots with any kind of sail up would be brutally insane. You guys dodged a rather large bullet. Glad y'all made it. 🙌💪🌬⛵️

Zone Television you would think, but normal rules of nature don’t apply to the Mediterranean... we’ve been chased down storms upwind, had clouds that look like disaster but came with no wind, others packing a punch. We had no mainsail and just the storm jib up so that we could keep the boat upright and facing down massive waves the right way. Meg was driving through the storm, praying to the gods that the boat would remain upright. 🙏 Never thought we could do 17 knots with just the storm jib, but that’s how big the seastate and breeze were. Hopefully never again.
