I use excel for my grading/planning as well. We use our binders to store some work but we also use quite a few workbooks and I leave pages in there and go through at the end of the year and decide what to keep. We live in Texas as well, and although we are not required to keep records, I still do. I’m teaching grade 9, 6, and pre-k this year. Love your channel and content! ❤

I put each kid's weekly work in a binder, sorted by day. This is the only method that has really worked to keep my oldest on track. If it can't go in the binder(workbooks), I write the day of the week (M,T,W,Th,F) on the top of each page. I also have a checklist in the binder that has each day's assignments listed, just to be sure nothing gets missed. At the end of each week, I take everything out, grade what needs to be graded, and refill with next week's work.

Just an FYI, I noticed you have a certain set of anatomy books on your shelf. 😬 They were written by someone who supports in sessst, pdf files, child grape, etc. I don't care how good they might be as books, I would NOT (especially as a Christian, especially as a mother) have those in my home. They are, unfortunately, quite popular, especially in the homeschooling realm. I'm not judging anyone for having them - just trying to inform people about the author. Edit: Just got to the part where you praised them. Sigh. To each their own, I suppose. As for me and my house, however, absolutely not.

I have a couple of questions- first how did you get your guy assessed for dyslexia/ dyscalcula when he is homeschooled? I have a fifth grade boy and he’s reading fairly well but handwriting has always been such a struggle and writing is like pulling teeth. He struggles with memorizing the times tables but understands the concept as well. I’ve considered dysgraphia but he’s come a long way and I kind of brushed it off, I have no idea how to have him assessed since we homeschool and don’t really want to involve the local public school. Also how do you time this schedule out? It looks amazing but I have one and still feel like I would struggle to fit all of this in, I am a night shift nurse and work part time and make it work we get through his work every week but I would love to see how you organize all of this! Thank you for sharing 😊
@homeschoolculture2 ай бұрын
@@jacquelinedavis2783 we got him tested at Scottish Rite in Dallas, but your local school district can do the testing. If you’re in Texas I would go with Scottish Rite. You could try searching Dyslexia testing in your state and see what pops up. The scheduling- it usually took us 2-3 hours with me sitting with him most of the time. I will try and get a video out soon on how we do it. Thanks for the questions. Let me know if there’s anything else. 😊

@@homeschoolculturethank you! We are in Ohio, I just didn’t know how that would go if they find an issue with the testing and it is done by the school. I swear I can be at the table for a good 5-6 hours with just one kiddo, he is the king of procrastination 🤦🏼♀️
