It is called a wedge that you get your opinion angle sit right with they’ve been around for eons. We used to do that with jacked up 4Wheel drives before we learn how to rotate the spring pads on the housing and Reed.
@nickcook74082 күн бұрын
what you need is independant rear suspension. pull rear IRS out of something at a junkyard, throw it in yours, and you can use a sensible spring & damper arrangement. solid axles and panhard bars and all that bullshit is just not acceptabel anywhere after 1974. buy or fab IRS.
@onthefritzfarm2 күн бұрын
Ken, I don’t know what to tell you. You may need to lift that bed off and examine the entire rear suspension. It looks like your (right)passenger side trailing arm is at a different angle than the (left)driver’s side trailing arm. But it could have been the camera angle. I’m currently refreshing my front suspension on my 69. I’ve completed the rear with new 5 lug axles, disc brakes and 3 inch drop springs. I hope it sits ok when I’m all done.

Thank you for posting this video, bc my daughters boyfriend has had a heck of a time trying to get someone to fix his car and even mechanics could t figure out what exactly the problem was .. and of course Hyundai wasn’t very helpful
Good addition to the truck and the fitment is really coming together now. You'll like the front end even more once you have the steering components and sway bar added on. Hopefully you can get the driveshaft angle straightened out. I know that's frustrating to get one thing done to only be gifted a problem in return. Cheers!

Very rarely will I have a mod go smoothly on the first attempt. Always running into something that wasn't expected. For the bolts, I would certainly use the old OEM or go with new grade 8. I even went with grade 8 on things that absolutely didn't need it but the cost difference was so minimal, I wanted the peace of mind. One more step forward! Really got a lot from this video. But what about the proud studs showing through from the nuts once the spacers are on. You cant get the wheel flush with the rotor. That would be a fail here in NZ

Your pinion angle doesn’t look too crazy. I’ve noticed anything more than 5 inches of drop on the shortbeds w/ one piece drive shafts it usually requires an open or topless trailing arm cross member for clearance. I helped a buddy with a 6 inch drop replace his. I’ll send ya a message with the part when I get home.
@DadbrosGarage19 күн бұрын
I might buy the topless trailing arm crossmember. Watching Simple.C10 install his makes it look easy to install
