Many have a small plot of grass on their property that they mow and keep well manicured. It is a thing of pride to them. Remember that only 20% of the island of Japan is livable. The rest is hostile to human population.

Very good views from this landing route including over Wakkanai city and views of Rebun then Rishiri. Possibly even Sakhalin earlier in the video but hard to tell. Nice weather too. Have landed there with the winds blowing like crazy from over the ocean in a YS-11 prop and it was facing towards the ocean until the last second to keep on track then turned to touchdown. Scariest touchdown I’ve ever experienced. That was back in 1979 or so when I flew home to Wakkanai via Chitose, from my high school in Tokyo.

They were up so high when approaching the airport, then when they crossed over the airport, losing altitude over the ocean, they really went quite far out before joining downwind. I wonder if that's a normal procedure there. Also, I wonder why the numbers and lines on the runway are yellow instead of white.

strange, I don't see the water . I can recall the runway was in the artificial island in Osaka Bay , are you sure it is Kansai Airport

It is the same airport in Osaka. But it's not Kansai Airport.

This is the original Itami Osaka international airport before they built Kansai.

Osaka has 2 airports. Kansai is the International, This one the Osaka (Itami) Airport is domestic.

I flew into Kansai in 1999 as a passenger on a 747. Scary landing. You come in low over water, then bank hard and there is nothing but sky on one side, water on the other. Then you reverse and it all flips around. Then you "level" out and come over that bridge at 7:35 , missing it by about 3 feet. Or so it seems.

Actually is a small country but the people out there are friendly and discipline... I love Taiwan so much hoping someday i going to visit again soon.. Chayoo chayoo taiwan.
