Shina Ringo wrote the song about a woman from the red light district. And that's exactly the role she plays in the live performances. She plays this broken woman perfectly. And Ado covers the song. She does it very well.

If you go back to episode 1, at Himmel's funeral, Frieren is flashing back to memories of him while the casket is being buried. The final memory is simply one of him turning around - identical to the one here as he explains that a tearful goodbye would be embarrassing when they meet again. In that moment of the funeral, she remembered his explanation and realized that this would be her final goodbye to him; they won't meet again. And only then does she finally break down and have that tearful goodbye. It's an amazing way to come full circle for the season.

the studio version would have been a fairer comparison (I think you would still come to the same conclusions) because this performance is incredible and makes it very difficult to be objective haha

I like your judicious reactions to Ado songs. Some time ago, I found playlist with all Ado`s songs and I don`t believe in this number (206). If calculate from her major debut (4 year) it looks like she release song per each week). In the same time she produce idol-group, hosts a weekly radio show, is engaged in streaming and also goes to karaoke with friends. It break my mind Some interesting fact. Always happy to see someone check out Mori! It will always be disputed what her "best", song is but very few (including myself) will dispute this as the answer. As far as all of Hololive being on this level I'd say at least performatively all of their members are capable like this, but as far as how most think of the total package of being an artist I think only Mori Calliope, and Hoshimachi Suisei are at the level you may be thinking of. Other members like Hakos Baelz, Tokoyami Towa, Tsunomaki Watame, and others I'm not as familiar with being undeniably capable as well. If you want more Mori, while I can accept this as her best song I truely think her best work is her entire recent album Phantomime and highly recommend you check out Cult Following
