Honey bees are almost always invasive. The vast majority of the world's 20,000 bee species do not live in hives and do not produce any honey, they are solitary wanderers. Native pollinators are going extinct at a terrifying rate, and the leading cause is honey bee invasion. It is utterly irresponsible to keep bees unless you know exactly which species you're keeping, they're native to your area, and they're necessary for the pollination of nearby flora. Anything else is selfish ecological destruction just so you can have something sweet to wipe on your toast in the morning.

So is this considered vegan since they don't necessarily produce the honey as much as they change it like us cooking food ingredients to make a final product rather than getting milk straight from the source. Is Honey considered animal products or was it the amount of injured bees that made it not vegan?

📃 And your Lord revealed to the bees , Take houses in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect, and follow the paths of your Lord in humility. Then eat of all the fruits. The Flow Frame consists of partly pre-formed honeycomb cells. The bees complete the comb with their wax, fill the cells with nectar, which they turn into honey, and cap the cells as usual. Once the frames are empty the bees remove the capping and refill the frames support.honeyflow.com/how-do-the-flow-frames-work/

I love gardening and would love to have bees but my severe allergy to them prevents it bc I would have to be 100% sure I wouldn't be stung.
@FlowHiveКүн бұрын
Working with bees you will eventually get stung even when fully suited up it is a matter of time and if you are allergic we recommend not keeping bees. Check with your GP regarding action if you do get stung also as it is important to be prepared. -Kieran

@@FlowHive thanks so much. I raised a question earlier and hope you can help. I live in a rainforest and moisture is always an element/issue to deal with and keep up. I noticed on my FH2 moisture along the observation ports which seemed high (more condensation than I thought I’d see). It could be a plastic visual which may be present in my wood Langstroth boxes but not sure. I guess what I can’t see in wood doesn’t mean it isn’t there, lol. Any thoughts on ways to vent moisture without disturbing the heat needed in the colony? Thanks. I’m a new “Flow bee” and love it, just want to keep the girls happy and productive. I inspect my hives every ten days or so.

You have to check there's no brood first, yeah?

The harvest happens in the top box, the bees nest is in the bottom box. A queen excluder is often used in beekeeping this prevents the queen from laying where the bees store extra honey. So brood is unharmed, there are also safety gaps built into the mechanism so even if a bee is crawling inside when opened it can crawl out and doesn't get harmed, the bees fill these gaps with wax as they build out the comb. go.honeyflow.com/pages/how-flow-works -Kieran

I wouldn't say they are struggling, it's just a small hive. I learned not to put a super on too quickly. With only one LG box on the bottom, they might just not be ready to expand yet.

Beekeeping is so cool. On another note though, I heard that there is too much of a focus on domesticated honeybees, and not on wild bees. Wild bees evolved symbiotically with a certain plant or plants and are much more effective pollinators than honeybees, but they're not being cared for because of pesticides and whatnot. Protect all bees
