My wife bought me one when we were drunk in hawaii, I was admiring it in my Russian state and dropped the damn thing in our hotel bathroom. Of all the watches to get a ding/scratch on.. fuck me... It's a tiny dent in the corner of the bezel but its killing me. Of all the high-polish watches I have without scratches it had to be the damn karatsu..

Both Franciszek Czapek and Antoni Patek were Polish. They started their high horology business in Warsaw, Poland, before moving to Geneva, Switzerland. This particular, Faubourg de Cracovie is French translation of a fine neighborhood of Warsaw, KRAKOWSKIE PRZEDMIESCIE which in English means Cracow Suburb. It is a Warsaw neighborhood called that way because it has many beautiful stylistically Polish Cracovian architecture.

I just canot get past the snowflake hands. For me it completely destroys the aesthetic of the watch. It makes the dial look cartoonish.....

Great review & photography but I'm sure this watch calibre (502.3) beats at 3hz (21,600) not 4hz. Brequet are so underrated & Make the best value high end dress watches by far.

I see a lot of people saying 38mm would be better, I have a 40mm and I kept wondering if it was 41 or 42mm. I had no clue 40 mm looks this small on the wrist unless my vision is not good. I am not a big guy, a wrist size 7inches and I see the 42 mm looks great to me personally and on the wrist. Maybe I’ll just keep this one and just wait for some other great finds. One thing I can’t get my head around is why the GMT watches don’t have a date function as Seiko 5 GMT with a white dial and a blue or orange gmt hand just looks so stunning but no date.
