The Z1 was a very nice synth. I almost regret selling mine.. And this particular sound is very haunting. It doesn't come even close to the laser harp, but it has a beauty of its own.

I'm curious, what is the name of that preset? Is it part of a third party collection of patches? I'd really like to know :)

sweet, has a nice feedback quaolity to it rather than sustain......very cool. ive messed with diy sustainers but this looks like a nice alternative for a more natural feedback, but at low vol levels....nice work man.

The fact is, the core value of Z1 is the TMS57070 DSP chip customized by TI (Japan), each chip provides 2 voices (Z1=12 voices by 6 DSP chips; Z1-EX=18 voices by 9 chips, very expensive). This DSP chip only licensed and made by TI Japan corp and stopped production in 2000, never ship to other countries. That's why only few Z1 were produced and no longer seen after 2000 (Actual production time-slot only less than 3 years), the only rest parts have possibly been built as MOSS-board for Triton Expansion but not a lot. Z1 sounds are unique due to hardware's difference comparing to later Korg gear and competitors. It's truly a lost tribe never seen any more. Rest in peace !!!

I have the 6 voiced, but to understand is that these 6 voices are very versatile, and the controllers of the Z1 one too.

One of the few synths I truly regret to have sold. It was and still is one of KORG's masterpieces. I did let it go as it so hard to repair, due to its design and the support by KORG (no support at all, to be honest). Besides I guess from my experience with KORG all machines coming in a silver case are alike prototypes unleashed to the public. I still have their AM 8000 R and DL 8000 R 19" rack units in my rack. Besides I had a a Radias. Excellent machines, but no support at all. I've asked KORG support here in Germany about 15 years ago for a new OS-ROM for my AM 8000 R ... not available. I've asked them to send me the binary files to write the data on an EEPROM by myself ... response: We do not have access to any binary data. 1970s and 80s synths are easier to repair. Sorry, I'm done with KORG. All they are good at is building superior machines without giving support to the users of their gear. They should rather build disposable razors than synthesizers, as this seems to be the attitude of KORG nowadays.

The tape dampens or alters the vibration, making it weaker... Also put the speaker near the neck or at center of guitar...

Hey man, @ least the dude is trying to be INNOVATIVE & take guitar playing into another realm/next level. What contribution have any of you EVER made 2 see the guitar grow.
@DJCoolHandRoo98713 жыл бұрын
Not to mention, this is the style of thinking that invents new methods & is the plateau 4 discovery. All it takes is someone digging on that idea & taking it a little bit further. I'd suggest fusing the 2 picks together, with something in between them (wood, metal, pick plastic { probably best, so as to not break the strings) spacing them apart the exact same space of measurement as the strings. That way you don't have to hold the strings in-between your fingers. This way you can blast the $#it outta the strings harder & faster than any1 has ever played in the history of guitar playing & definitely more than any1 has ever claimed on the comments here. Or, if you REALLY wanna take it to the next level. Do the same exact thing with the picks, except, move the bottom pick over one fret, so it would be in a diagonal position from the top pick. And space the bottom pick over far enough to reach the next fret. Then you could pick a multitude of different strings simultaneously. However, a design like this would almost guarantee you would have to relearn how to play the guitar all over again, since you would be picking two different strings & two different frets at once. It would almost be like you were playing with 3 hands. It's probably impossible. However..... ..."Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done" -Louis D. Brandeis I'm sure if this were undertaken, it most certainly would introduce the world to a form of music that would echo for centuries & the impact would solidify the musician who started it into a life of fame & fortune, whose footprint in music would become a building block to the cornerstone of an entirely new genre, or at the very least a new method/ style of playing the guitar.
