Copies of relevant documents are missing from my point of view. Furthermore food, water and clothing.Apart this a good kit for the basic needs. I don't understand why the handles for the axe and spade are removed...needs a lot of time to reproduce them in an emergency situation. Both could used for self defence but not in this condition...

If you think you could become homeless in the near future you should be burying equipment clothing tinned food dried food a way to cook it etc unless you want to pan handle and lose all self respect and spiral into deep depression alcohol and drug use. If I were homeless I would spend my time metal detecting as I already own a detector and hopefully find things of value or interest to potentially give me some income and boost my moral.

Great kit, John. By adding a few more bits, you can use this as your camping kit. Any camps planned for the future?

Nice little kit. I’ve got similar in the same bergen. I’ll call it the SHTF bag. That’s the bastard with slingshots. Almost need to put in the calendar to buy new rubbers every year. I know you’ve got the hammock but I’d say investing in a high end thermarest or Exped winter pad would make a big difference to your kit should you ever have to use it
@lymskiUK

I’ve made 4 kits for the whole family as of shit hits the fan I can’t leave them. I got 2 xtherm pads and 2 exped downmats at about a tonne each 2nd hand over the course of about a year which are all basically brand spanking. That with the British Artic bags and bivvis should see anyone through the worst our winters can chuck at us

Not a bad kit at all. Having to craft handles for the tools in the field is a pain though, maybe add a back up water filter and a four in hand rasp as well as a small wood carving knife. Not sure if I missed it but I didn't see any tool maintenance.
@JohnGoesWalkabout
@JohnGoesWalkabout 14 күн бұрын
@@turtlewolfpack6061 Yeah but if the axe handle snaps in the woods it's almost impossible to remove the head without drills and chisels, it's better in the long run to make replaceable handles when needed. I have a 4 in hand rasp in with the files. I can carve with the axe head, kabar, victorionox, spec plus knife and the shovel if I need to.

British Army Mess tins are CRAP tbh. They are okay for boiling water, or for soup or beans like you did, but generally they were made for the soldiers to eat out of (That is food served into them) to eat out of. Good effort though, thanks.

Higonokami's or the similar style friction folders are the granddad of almost all small folding utility knives in East Asia. Back in the day every school children carried one as pencil sharpener, and as utility knife to make stuff like propeller blades for wooden model planes, boat toys what not. I used one, my dad used one when he was young. They were the original edc knife for kids back in my day. These blades are tough and are optimised for wood cutting.

Will do mate, He might be starting a new job soon working as a manager in grounds maintenance for a hospital, what he doesn't realise is his future with that job is in my hands as I have the phone number of the guy that's recommending people to the hospital managers for hire and I'm in two minds weather not to call the him and tell him why they shouldn't hire him and show them the death threat. His future in general is my hands anyway now as i have more than a few people who want him and one of them is very dodgy. Not sure why he over reacted the way he did but he only has himself to blame.

It’d be good to see your current bug out bag set up. I have one, it’s more of an emergency/get home bag that I keep in the boot of my car. If it came to bugging out I’m still working on that as I’ve a family of four. Got bags for all of us that I keep light for the others with the essentials (bivvi, artic bag, flashlight, mini first aid, warm weather gear and change of clothes) and I haul the rest. Looking at one of those trolleys you can get but they all look shite. If it all went to shit I’d look to bug in but if we had to bug out it wouldn’t be fun but I’d give it a damn good shot

In my experience, john people bitch and moan either because you're doing a good job and making them look bad and their jealous, your to friendly with magement and you get special treatment or because they think your lazy. Normally, it's always a click of people who do this. By filming, you're just covering yourself and proving them wrong. It also makes them look stupid and embarrasses them. Great setup as always. Look forward to seeing more photos.
