Hi. Thank you so much for the share 😊 Planning a very similar trip, but going to Terrace bay and Etosha after swakopmund. Female travelling solo with no guide etc. Did you feel safe? Done lots of trips alone just worried about how vulnerable you are being seen solo and sleeping in a tent. Any insight would be amazing. Happy travels

Great question. Most participants seem to be from South Africa, with a significant international presence, including people from Europe, Australia, North America, and beyond. Since it is inspired by Burning Man in the U.S., it may be more closely aligned with Western subcultures, which could contribute to the demographic makeup. However, it's important to emphasize that it is open and welcoming to everyone.

ive been there twice (2015 and 2017) and even though you do see people of color attend afrika burn, there was very poor representation amongst the south african visitors. only around 10% of (the 60 million) south africans white however at the event it seems like white people are the overwhelming majority. i would argue that people of color would enjoy this even just as much as white people so i don't think culture plays a large role here, its more likely to do with injustices of the past (south african history) that white south africans on average have orders of magnitude more wealth and its easy for them to afford this event. it just shows how much (or rather how little) has been done in regards to reparations in south africa. The event itslef i would say it pure but it is also a mirror of our society.

Ek vra jou weer wat PRESIES leer jy by Afrika Burn, hoe is jy n beter mens as jy daar weg stap??? The me myself and I picture. Soos my oupa my geleer het: "If you dont want to slip dont go to slippery places"

Your video would have been a lot better without your crude and vulgar language. Educated people really don’t want to hear that kind of talking. It is sad because you seem like a nice woman. You need a “dead cat” to block the wind while you are recording. Some of your video was impossible to hear due to the wind noise. These are inexpensive devices which are necessary to record in a windy environment.

You are correct about all of this :D I did not plan to record this video. It was a spontaneous decision. Hence, I didn’t have any equipment. Also, I was living with a bunch of military at the time - which had surely influenced my language ;)

Just a pronunciation tip, Ø is almost exactly like a German Ö (the origin of both symbols is an OE combination). Also, a final "E" is always pronounced in Norwegian words, again similar to German. So "Sunnmøre" should be pronounced similarly to how you would do if you followed German rules, and not according to English rules like "sun more" as you did in the video.

Fantastic to see the joy you have in seeing the beautiful, exciting and wild nature we have in Norway. Hope you got to Oslo safely. If you want to experience a completely different Norway, drive RV 17 (Kystriksveien) from north of Trondheim and follow it up to Bodø. Take the ferry over to Lofoten and then drive up to Andenes. Ferry from there over to Senja and up to Tromsø. Can really recommend you that trip. If you can bear it, drive further up to Nordkapp.
