The line where he says that in a way his father is now the younger man really struck me. My father died when he was 49 years old, and i'm 36 years old now. So most likely i'll surpass that age eventually if everything goes allright. It already dislodges a strange feeling in me. A feeling i presume must be similar to the feeling i felt when i realized that i have lived longer without my father than i have ever lived with him. He died when i was 17 years old, and yet he occupies still such a large part of my being.

Aside from the strange, profound emotion this scene makes me feel, something I really like about is how it starts with a long married couple speaking to each other somewhat coldly, each of them getting a little jab in and just sounding like two people who have known each other for a long time and are okay with being casually mean to each other. But once the wife lets up a little bit and pushes him to share his dreams, you can see their care for each other in how he shares his thoughts and how she looks at him as she takes in his words.

My dad has always been very critical of movies, it's rare that he likes a film, but this is one of the few movies that he genuinely liked, we watched it together and when it was over we started arguing about the meaning of the dream, it's a moment that I remember with great affection. fun fact: we are both from a city called Piedras Negras on the border with Eagle Pass and whose square appears in one of the scenes of the movie, that is also why we really like this movie, we are very familiar with South Texas

It's a really stupid book and a really idiotic movie which makes no sense the only thing I got out of it is humans are no good and for money are prepared to unleash senseless violence on each other and on innocent family members and on innocent bystanders

Lost my father in 2013, old man drunk himself to death. Watching this, first time ever in 2018. After this, I started tearing up, my wife asked what was wrong. I just told her, you still got your father, enjoy his time here. I miss my father so damn much.

I heard there was a special director's cut, where the final line from sheriff Bell is : "Loretta, this is no country for old men.." and then it cuts to credits with Linkin Park playing in the background. I understand that was the Coen Brothers preferred ending, but the studio cut it for timing reasons.

It staggers me that some people don't like the ending of this movie. This was a flawless movie, and this scene is perhaps the best ending of a movie ever made. Perfect in every image, word, and sound. Poignant and meaningful. Jones is beyond masterful - this is doubtlessly the finest moment of his career. The movie could not have been ended with more grace or craftsmanship.
