This seems around about the same time David Caradine was the virtuous Kwai Chang Cain. I bet he really loved being the badass ruthless killer criminal in this movie .He brings a great sense of intrigue ,and suspense which is quite similar ...I was about 10 (grasshoppers age!)when I first watched it ..I wanted to walk through walls but settled for walking about barefoot, wearing ,baggy clothes and old trilby a canvas manbag full of herbs and a few letters and my fancy fighting keks ,Some of the soundtrack here could easily be used in the Kung Fu series .. same composer ? I like his acting .. he died too young in mysterious circumstances ...some triad vendetta or a.sex act or drug overdose or got a Mickey Finn ?! I was sad about his early passing -he meant a lot to me when I was at the sensitive stage! Influential ,think for yourself ,meditate of a kind,in the natural world ,observe and study plants and animals, avoid violence, leave the gangs to the bullies ,move quickly and quietly through woods meadows chalk Downland ,quarries along streams following shortcuts through private gardens ,churchyards ,cricket pitch ,football pitch grave yard brickworks ,gravel pits golf courses ,wheat fields railway lines thorny scrubland Scot's pines pig styes ,tarmacked single trackways, old bridleways ,wells and fords ,by bicycle with dog and move across country silently at night with band mates like gorillas or yeti might . R IP David Caradine ❤️💕💓☮️💥💨💘🖤🔥🌟👁️👄🚴🚵🌲🌳🌴🍄 He fit in just Perfick for Kill Bill ,

Botanically fascinating opening shots .. Botany and Geology are the main attractions of cowboy films for me ...oh and sometimes practising my Espanol !!! Other wise the plots with people tend to get in the way !!! Although everyone loves a pianist that knows when to stop suddenly when danger approaches .!!

I never knew about this TV special....(i would have been about 7 yrs old when it aired)....but was watching an old Tonight Show...where JOhn Wayne happens to surprise visit the show....and mentioned he was leaving to film 'the shootist' in Carson City, NEV. and NBC was planning to rerun 'Swing out Swing out Sweet land' for the Nation's bicentennial. So i looked it up on KZbin...and found it. Amazing TV special

What ever became of Leslie Uggams? I vaguely remember her from variety shows, but not nearly as much as I would expect. She was gorgeous and had a beautiful voice. This came out while I was in the Army so I did not see it until years later. Most of us enlisted people did not spend much time in the day room at the barracks watching TV.

I’m so grateful to have grown up when people still loved our great nation. Our grandfathers fought in Wars that were crucial for our nations life. Ever since Vietnam, the public could care less about veterans and sacrifice.

Is this based on the story of The Angels Of The Mons? The truth of the matter was this, it didn't happen at all. It was reported in a British newspaper, and suddenly soldiers started claiming they'd seen visions of angels and the German solidiers dropping their guns and running away. However, the journalist responsible for the article came forward to admit it was just an invention of his own mind. He invented the story to give British troops and the people at home a heartening story as a morale booster. In the early 70's, I remember seeing a tv programme between an interviewer and a soldier who had been on the battlefield. He swore the whole thing was true, even though the presenter had evidence from the journalist that the whole story was fake. I'm afraid the whole programme made the old soldier look rather foolish. Goes to show just hiw willing people are to follow a complete fiction as the truth, no matter the evidence they are given. As it happens, a lot of'bright lights' were seen alongside and following aircraft during both world wars, just as bright lights are seen over modern airbases and following all manner of aircraft today. Of course, the modern opinion puts this phenomenon down to aliens. But I strongly suspect this is due to static electricity, perhaps some variant of St Elmo's Fire, ball lightning, and lights reflecting off pockets of moist air.

High Noon is probably the best Western film ever made. It was a different kind of western film that's never been made that way before or since. The sequel film is fine on its own, the actors have there own take on the original characters. The character of Will Kane because of the psychological suitation he was in the original storyline. Will Kane would've never returned to that town that almost cost him his life and almost losing his wife. The town cowardice left him high and dry. Him and wife would've been far away as possible to forget that town and move on with there lives to start a new beginning and start a family who knows? The problem I have with the sequel is the original characters coming back.

Watching this on July 3, 2024. Seems to me that the only person missing from this all-star ensemble was Jimmy Stewart. 😁 Cool little program to look back on with a message it might do us well to carry forward.
