This might sound silly, but could I become an Anesthesiologist Assistant if I am squeamish about poking people with needles? I was a Vet Tech for years and drew blood, assisted in surgeries and ran anesthesia for the pets, so I know I can do it with animals, but I wonder....just wondering your thoughts

Hi! @caalifestyle As an Anesthesia Assistant, do you deal with putting in a pick line, drawing blood? Do you administer the drugs as an assistant, or do you just prep them? Also, does the job require heavy math skills? Askingb for my daughter, who is graduating high school.

These are my two choices after my undergrad. I want to do AA but they are limited in the states they can practice in. PA’s can practice in every state but make less money I want to practice in Texas and AA’s can practice in Texas but what if I want to move😩. I don’t plan on moving though

@CAALifestyle22 күн бұрын
@howto...9289 it is not necessary to be a nurse. CAAs and CRNAs are used interchangeably in the anesthesia care team and the safety is comparable! Check out more information with this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLnA73D8ZlTdvXztgTaa_hmdQCLFuf5AVC&si=ShVClqsyjDXTr20x

How much shoulder movement is on this job and how much of is it shoulder rotation and continious movement of the shoulder especially compared to other physician assistant and doctor jobs? Its not like a job where you sit down and take a history into computer like a lot of doctors and PAs do most of the time right? Ive got bad shoulder problems and this is the one thing preventing me from doing this even though im interested.

Anesthesia is incredibly safe (safer than driving)! I cover this in my previous pros and cons video :) I’ve created a pros and cons playlist so it’s easy for you to access!
@heyschwudupАй бұрын
@CAALifestyle I mean yeah, totally aware, but just the chance of human error you are 100% more exposed to than many other professions means it is a con, but it's just the nature of the job and part of the acceptance one has to have before going into it.
@pv3627Ай бұрын
@@heyschwudup “work related stress” is a con, especially for students/new grads in this career. However, once experienced and you have solutions figured out to the majority of problems that could occur, the stress decreases significantly. Then work stress would be a minor con (instead of a major one).
@CAALifestyleАй бұрын
Agreed! With experience work related stress becomes relatively manageable. I feel I’ve developed short term and long term methods to deal with high acuity patients/emergencies/stress. I see the state legislation as something I still have to navigate that may not necessarily get easier with experience. For now I believe contract work is one of the best solutions for anyone with ties outside of the states with CAA legislation.
