Thank you for this video. But I'm still confused. When I try to spin the thread multiple times it simultaneously spins the core at the same rate, so the core gets thinner and tighter, or the twist travels up the core, outpacing the thread. I'm not sure how to get more wraps from the thread than twists in the core.

Looks like it’s not much different from spinning from a “braid”, I was curious to know what a batt actually is and you’ve enlightened me. So thanks for that! I also love love love how this video shows how much fun drop spindling is and how easy once you get the hang of it!

Slightly dampened coffee filters work well. Dye and cut into a spiral.

I’m new to spinning, can’t yet quite do the spindle, but this video gives me all the motivation I need to get it mastered! You said to spin the spindle clockwise - does it really matter? These garments are dynamic and so inspiring Ashley. I have so many ideas floating around in my head! I have made these sort of garments before just with wool fabrics and with felted pieces and I have also made freeform crochet. I am now learning to spin (drop spindle) and am inclining towards making art yarn. Wonderful way to take it! Love the hearts on the sleeves. I would love to own one but I live in Australia and so postage would be prohibitive for me. Thanks for sharing. 😀
