I feel very blessed being a friend of the Jesuit Community. I have a strong admiration for the Society for their firmness and their justfulness and strong faith. I continue my journey of faith looking forward to the teachings of many Jesuits and their brevity. God Bless Fr Nico. PEACE ✌️ TO ALL JESUITS AND FAMILIES AND TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU SERVE.

A very well designed and beautifully communicated parable for today. It is a loving piece for contemplation. Congratulations to all those who put their hands together to give life to this praise worthy initiative. Indeed it is a very original idea to narrate the Gospel parable from an ecological perspective and to motivate people to take care of our common home.

I was a participant of EAPA more than 40 years ago(?) ...at that time Fr. Nico came from Japan to teach sacraments to us (of course I used to be helped in Japan quite a long time) . He helped me to be "my-self"! then Jesus came into me. He helped me to live in Christ. I pray for him and all his friends of course Jesuits and thank God who shared him with us.

Dear Brothers, Thank you for this moving tribute to our dear Fr Adolfo Nicolas that I have been able to watch here in the Diocese of Hamilton, New Zealand where I am continuing my peripatetic ministry as a spiritual director and retreat director despite the restrictions imposed on all of us by Covid-19. I join you in giving thanks to God for the gift of Nico to the Society of Jesus and to the Church, and in asking God to console all those who grieve for him. May Ignatius, Xavier and Favre - together with Joseph and Mary - welcome Nico into the Heavenly Kingdom. Richard Shortall SJ, Whangamata, New Zealand.

Wonderful to hear from fr.General that each one of us united with the humanity in whole universe needs to look in to oneself to help each other with responsibility. May God give us light for personal introspection to grow in unity with whole universe, especially with humanity. Let us open our hearts and soul to our LordJesus Christ.

I first visited Banteay Prieb - Center of the Dove - in 1994, shortly after its launch by the Jesuits. The majority of the community then were young man seriously wounded in the long and vicious years of terror and war during and after the Khmer Rouge era. Land mines took their legs, arms, eyes, and their reason to live. They were farmers who felt they could never again work in the fields, the only labor they and their ancestors knew. "I have one leg and one hand. How could I ever care for a woman, for children? Why should I live", one man tearfully told me. Others present nodded in sad agreement. Now, more than two decades later, some of those same men are teaching carpentry, woodwork, auto-mobile and motorcycle mechanics, and other life skills to new members of the community. Men and women. As the video so movingly shows, women have taking their place among the learners of trades and professions that usher-in a sustainable livelihood that will benefit their families, friends and neighbors. Banteay Prieb is one of those vital communities, tucked away in Cambodia, that offers meaning to marginalized people. It is an example to the world of the good that s being done - good news in the face of all too much bad news.

Very interesting to view this update on the recent activities up there in Timor Leste, and particularly refreshing to see Fr General visit the Secondary School in Railaco, with which we at St Canice's have had an active involvement in supporting for the past ten years. Good job Rui!
