How many chains should you get of a 100 foot roll for a 16 inch bar chainsaw?? 325 050”/1.3 mm chain?

you measured out the rope but didn't state how long it should be. Is 40" the recommended length?

Thank you for an easy, simple , well explained video. Why didn't KZbin recommend this video first. I've been digging for a simple fucking video for days.

terrible instructional video! Here's why I say that. You do not explain anything about your block. There is a angle in each size on the pitch block, which way does the angle set, which way does the chain go? Driver up or down? One way it will only push and one way it will POP, as you say. I learn a lot from people taking the time, and I am forever greatful for them doing that. This video is more on the sales side of the chain. Didn't learn a single thing. There is a lot more to it than that.

Previous owner put an aftermarket recoil assembly on my used Stihl. After 2 hours of trying to feed a new rope, I've definitely learned that aftermarket and OEM are two very different things. Glad it's done.

Really cool video, kind of like the good old days before the internet and you had to call people on the phone and sometimes my mom had to drive me around and help my buy stuff or I would get it for free sometimes even! Mom is still here but she can't drive me around anymore, I have to drive her around now. I try to buy stuff from your store if you have the right parts, I own a Stihl 075A, and 2 Poulans (cheap ones), and 3 husqvarna's, a 1992 55 (with non screw type air filter), a 372 xp project saw that's close to being ready again, and a 394xp that I just ordered a carb kit for. I am in WA State, just placed an order not too long ago. I play the banjo and it's a "babe magnet!" Lol... (That's just to get people to play the banjo...) A basset hound puppy works way better to attract the hot babe's than the banjo as I recall... That's not me in the picture, that's Harold Morrison. He was on the Wilborn Brothers TV show and they have a memorial website for him online, somewhere here's more information on him if anyone's interested... www.hillbilly-music.com/artists/story/index.php?id=14420 Stay safe and wear your chaps and all the protective gear you own whenever possible!

yeah don't overfill your oil. And use your dip stick to check the level.....make sure you check your manual but most of these engines you check your oil level by NOT screwing in the oil cap/dipstick. Overfilling with oil is not good for the Engine.

Fantastic thanks, easy to follow, just completed replacing my pull cord on my 14inch STIHL,I cut 40 inch rope used bout 36 , you can actually tell how much you need when the wheels full and pulls and rewinds easily. The only reason I mentioned the rope is a comment about length! might not have the whole old peice as the dilemma I found my self in ! Cheers!

Not trying to be a note at all but shouldn't you keep a gap tool on hand to make sure the ignition coil and the flywheel are gapped precisely because if not it does make a difference on the whether or not your saw will start after the change of or run properly it can cause it to pre-ignition fire if you got it kept wrong and that pits the top your piston top gets pitted I had way too many of them blows a hole right through the top of them I've done had way too many of them break the same reason and even stihls warranty department confirmed that was reason

I appreciate this video. However, the 1 x 3/8 hex bushing is very difficult to find. Also, the 3/8 hole in that fitting is npt and I have not been able to find a bolt with the npt. So is will be necessary to tap the 1x3/8 hole to fit a 5/8 bolt with 11 threads. Note that because of the weird way pipe fittings are named, the 3/8 " hole requires a 5/8 " bolt and the threads have to be altered.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle kzbin.infoUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

HLSupply…Thanks for the Video. I tried the Rope trick. It held at first and then gave way. I pulled the rope out and only had 2 Knots! Then I tried fishing out the other two. Tried blowing it out with air, no luck. So I removed the muffler cover, and there was my piece of rope in the Muffler. I noticed the exhaust port was sort of rectangular and I could see the piston going up and down. So I stuck a piece or 1/8” x ¾” Aluminum flat stock in the port to the top of the piston. And that worked with just a 25” breaker Bar. No Jumping required.
