I think this plot idea was inspired by what happened to the droid D2 in the 1972 sci-fi movie "Silent Running". I didn't realize it until I read a more detailed movie synopsis because some descriptions just refer to D2 by his nickname. I think he was called Hughey. The droids were Hughey, Dewey and Louie. Stewie, aka Stew, would definitely rhyme. The droid didn't always follow instructions. It got hit by a car or buggy at high speed aboard the spacecraft, was damaged and couldn't be fully repaired so the main character kept it with him. The design on the side on the droids looks a bit like a monkey or ape face. The themes in the movie appear to be referenced in some songs and media by Gorillaz and various artists. The movie set models were record breaking and revolutionary. The movie was made into a Scholastic book for kids.

Claiming his nose is like this from getting broken is probably one way of dealing with the more likely reason. I believe Murdoc has characteristics of someone who acquires syphilis at birth. He has a form of saddle nose, pointed teeth and his skin colour is also affected. The effect of drinking alcohol and taking drugs probably further damaged his liver and possibly made his skin this colour. If he's actually much older than he says, who knows what else he's been exposed to. They show him as Rasputin in the Cracker Island phase. People tried to poison Rasputin but he survived at least one attempt. Murdoc is willing to do and take questionable things... His green colour also seems inspired by the old cards showing the Scorpio zodiac sign. It seems to jive with some of what he does and might be his actual birth sign, or of someone who affected Damon instead. Check out the fable of the scorpion and the frog and watch the Aries video again. Damon's sign is Aries. The moral is not to trust a scorpion because it's in it's nature to sting even when that could also result in harm to itself. 2D is naive this way and is also good at forgetting. The little short of him on Twitter and Facebook of him playing the melodica while standing on the dead demon's head tells us this in the accompanying text.

My question is.. why did they give murdoc the responsibility of watching 2-d for his community service when he's the reason he was in the coma- If it hadn't happened we wouldn't have our lovable cinnamon roll.. but he would probably be better mentally+physially 😭
