I have a salt pool with an autocover. I test my water every few days. I’m always chasing the PH and TA. I’m glad I watched this episode because now I know why my PH will be 7.8 one day and the next time I test it’s at 7.6. I still don’t quite understand why my TA goes up sometimes 10ppm. I guess I need to do some more reading about Henry’s law. Thanks, for the podcast it really helps us pool owners who are trying to maintain our pools!

I added PR-10000 to my pool a few days ago to see if it would clear my cloudy pool. My phosphate level was at 290 ppb. I added 4oz for 20000 gallon pool and the next morning my pool was crystal clear. The next day I had the phospate level retested and it was now at 228 ppb. My CYA is high at 190 and TDS also high at 3900. I would of thought that the 4oz would have brought it closer to zero. My filter has been running 24/7 since I started. Am I incorrect in my expected outcome or is the product still working and I tested to soon?

Great video and presentation - thanks. One question: do you recommend to balance hardness (calcium) befor or after using Vitamin C for stain removal?

This was a great and informative podcast! Thank you for posting it. I have been wrestling with this identical calcium crystal situation for a while now and recently d/l the Orenda app to try to help me but I am not having much luck 😞 The 16,000 gallon pool specifics are: pH trying to keep it below 8, Calcium 600 (I know - we are in Nevada) TotAlkalinty 180, CYA 60, totalCL 5, FreeCL 1. Salt 3400 (as recommended by CMP Powerclean salt cell). I did add 30 lbs of boric acid but that has not seemed to help much. I am not sure how best to proceed so any suggestions or advice would be most welcome! Cheers!

I am surprised Orenda had to make a dishonest video to prove their point. You poured a full container in one spot rapidly in the "column" pour, and then you poured 1/2 container slowly in a large circle in the "Diluted" pour. The outcome is obvious. Why would I trust any of Orenda's video's after seeing this?

I've been pouring a third into each of my three return jets and haven't had any issues, but my weekly add is only about a pint. Still, your demonstration clearly shows that both distributing evenly around the perimeter and pre-diluting are better strategies. I'll keep that in mind. The Orenda podcasts have been a solid source of useful information on my home pool care. Thank you.

Im just at my wits end. Imstill struggling to catch up on the other bills since jumping on this pool at a cheaper price. The water bill hasnt been paid and im talking about draining and refilling. Its just not an option. And lets not even go there with the spiders and wasp. I am ready to call it.

This has been an huge issue for us. So far as causing an ear infection in my 14yr daughter. I'm out of funds and on the hottest day. The kit we bought from hth and of course it didn't say anything or have anything to help. In the beginning I really just used the tabs. The shock 1 time a week and baking soda when cloudy. But then it stormed and we have had issues. I'm thinking at this point in this texhoma heat we are just going to drain amd re fill. We can't even hold chlorine

Some comments I have read say do not run the pool filter when adding PR-10,000 and others say to pour in PR-10,000 and run the pool for 24 hours. Which is correct? Also, I have a Dolphin Supreme M5. Can I use this to vacuum the bottom instead of waste waster vacuuming when cloud disappears?

Does CYA sink, float or mix in the water column? I'd like to lower mine and it won't do any good draining from the bottom of the pool is CYA is on top. ????

How long will the water be cloudy for if I leave the pump running on its scheduled time?
@OrendaTechnologies
@OrendaTechnologies Ай бұрын
Depends on your dose and how much phosphates you had to begin with. And if you’ve got a lot of organics and oils. Usually about 24 hours. Could be longer if you’ve got dirty water, because oils float and PR dust sinks…if they stick together they stay suspended longer.

Please explain how to use the sodium bicarbonate; how much sodium bicarbonate must be incorporated into the barrel? Does the same trickle amount of calcium apply here with sodium bicarbonate, and is SC-1000 & muriatic acid also added into the barrel with sodium bicarbonate?
@OrendaTechnologies
@OrendaTechnologies Ай бұрын
Normally sodium bicarbonate is NOT added to the barrel, just calcium, acid and SC-1000 are. Bicarb is added separately using a clean bucket to pre-dissolve the bicarb and spread it around. Never put both calcium and bicarb together.
