Played here when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Lots of splinters, but a great time nonetheless.

I hated it. Same thing, I'm 63 years old and I was abandoned there when I was 8 years old. It was like a bad acid trip. The smells, the chaos, it was absolutely horrifying. And to top it off that crazy laughing lady did not help!

I just came upon this - my sister was a client there in the 1960's until being 'relocated' to a facility in Newhall/Saugus. She just passed away this week at the age of 81 - I remember visiting her at Pacific State - she loved going to the 'babies' ward. Thank you to all the people who made this place so very special.

I lived in Sebastopol in the 60's and 70's and my uncle worked in the funhouse. Needless to say when he and my aunt visited, I'd always get to go home with them and hang out in the funhouse all day long. God it was great. Sometimes my uncle would let me go down the ladder, to the control pit and then go down even lower so I was under the floor. I would re-string some of the wires leading from the handles to the valves that controlled the air holes. Then later they made him one of the midway bosses and I got to go on all the rides for free. I was the first one ever to ride the "Mad Mine" before it was opened to the public.

Loved this! Born in Covina, lived on Loma Vista attended Barranca, Eva D and graduated from Covina High, married and had my first baby there. Remember the smell of oily smudge pots and when they put in the 10freeway and built Eastland. Happy memories!

I really enjoyed your video. I also, had some wonderful times in the 70s and 80s with my Mom and Grandma at Weinstock's. By then, the restaurant had booths, and was more like a coffee shop from that era. I loved eating there.

13 years ago but no comment. I knew Mike a bit and he always had a nice store. Friends took lessons there. Helped a few friends get a killer deal on a few acoustics. I bought an electric on closeout when he was shutting down. I think he used to run a catalog mail order store out of Vernon Ave in the 80s iirc

Roseville, which is now largely obsessed with gawdy commercial developments, auto dealers, etc... Is actually geographically a sister city to Rio Linda. "Linda Creek" is a tributary of Dry Creek and probably has something to do with the name. Before the Folsom Dam, Linda Creek and Dry Creek were substantial rivers with robust salmon populations. The town of Roseville doesn't acknowledge this, but before Folsom Dam, "Rose Spring" was an effervescent, bountiful spring that fed Linda Creek and Dry Creek. I believe the town of Roseville was named after that spring. For example "St. Rose" church was built in the early 20th C. and sits not far from the stream. I find it fascinating as someone who grew up in Roseville that this connection is largely ignored now. Yet in the old days was probably a lot more important as a way of life.
