My ancestry is welsh but sadly I was born in England and while a small minority of people have told me that this does not make me Welsh, the rest have welcomed me with figurative open arms and hearing this just gives me this incredible sense of pride and also a little homesick for a place I have yet to call home. Diolch yn fawr, Cymru am byth <3

Is there any difference? I was born in England to ancestry all around the UK and the name lineage from Ireland. I am quite happy being English equally happy to be British. I like nice music and this sounds quite good in Welsh.

@@michaelcurley7581 Yes, we all have ancestry from all over the place.

Ramona, answer this question, it's a bit of a simplistic approach but it makes sense to me as I'm an Anglo-Celt,.......if a bitch has babies in a stable, do we call them foals ???

Good musicianship, good vocals whomever did this arrangement took out the chunking muted power chord at the beginning of the song. That lick in the beginning was the identifier for the song. And to do that, made things a little too dicey. I would like to hear any other stuff that Dylan has on this channel, because he sounds like he is a good singer.

Sounds alot better in Welsh than English - Almost as if it was designed to be sang in Welsh Yma O Hyd!

I was in Wales years ago, and fell in love with the beautiful place and love hearing the language. I liked the song, anyway. I started crying, for the song and hiraeth.

Roads of the land, go with me Along to (or according to) the place of my heart, to Anglesey, the land of mothers, Roads of the land, go with me.
@mariannehancock82822 жыл бұрын
I've just remembered, in the context, 'Ewch a fi' can be better translated 'Take me' rather than 'Go with me', and this is also what we hear in the original lyric.
@mariannehancock8282 Жыл бұрын
Oh, and it now occurs to me that 'Country Roads' is a better translation than 'Roads of the Land' .
