@coplites i am having an issue with this feature, it does the 3 tones and then does the 4th step as off. so I get stuck in a 6 second silence. would this be because I don't have the double press to shut off activated?

If you can help me with programming a platinum with a signal master but using the bottom row buttons to cycle through the modes. That would be great.

this is what in confusing to me, so the SS does not act as "true progressive" slider then? Meaning you have to manually turn off what is activated if you knock down a position? I was under the impression that it will turn off what is activated automatically if going from 3 to 2 because that is no longer activated.

One thing I noticed was if you add a CN Signalmaster to the hardware, it unlocks the SM menu. From there you can make the keypad show the SM. Won't do anything for the added LEDs to make a SM, but you at least have the keypad displaying it as well :) Lol and then I noticed later in the video you mentioned that.

What is the difference between On and Micropulse Steady Burn? Also how do you get it to flash dual colors with "off" time between the flashing, and to keep in sync with say an FSJoin Bar. Like on the light bars, if you have R/W and B/W up front it will alternate Red on driver, then blue on passenger, then white on driver, then white on passenger, then red driver, then blue on passenger. The plan is to have this, R/W lighting on all driver side, a push bumper crossbar with R/W on riverside of it, and B/W on passenger side. In the rear I want to have B/A Micropulses on Spoiler brackets on both driver and passenger and the same on license plates. So for the front, with regular flashing I would like to have the red and blue alternating - 75 Single Flash. I know red on Phase 0 and Blue on Phase 180. Same with the bar. The issue is now when white flashing is active, the bar will alternate between red and white and blue and white with keeping the phasing the same. However to accomplish the white flashing with say the crossbar, I would have to add Red and passenger white on phase 0, and driver white and blue on 180. This will create a constant on state, and fall out of sync with the bar. From what I can tell, you can't just do the bar (Valor FSJoin) the same way. I can't do similar phasing where I can put red on 0 phase with the passenger side white in the bar also on 0, and then do driver white with the blue on 180? I am trying to preprogram everything before getting stuff so see if I can set it to work for my application, and I am only use the "preview" in the setting, and like you said its funky and not timed just right. I know "add white" is supposed to fill the off time with white, so I am assuming that it means that the light will be on the same phasing as the "on" side of the bar. If I program one half of the bar as Red on Single 75 phase 0, Blue half on 180, then essentially that means it will make the white on the blue half phase 0 and the red half 180? In the back I want to keep it in time with the bar flashing so Amber on driver side will alternate with the blue on passenger side. and then will flash blue on driver side and then amber on passenger side. I want to keep the flashing sync the same, not speed it up, So I don't want one to be 0, then 45, then 90, then 180 So instead of it being like: A B B A A B B A I would like to to flash like A A B B A A B B I have been told this can be done with virtual inputs, but I am not completely understanding them. Reason I would like the rear different is because I am going to have these set for Single 60, along with the Amber in the rear of the bar, and the SM will flash like a Warn 1, Warn 2, Warn 3 pastern with Single 60. So I would like to time the Driver side amber flashing with the driver side SM module in the bar, and then when it goes to phase 180 on passenger side, the rear Amber on the hatch and spoiler will flash amber. And then follow the Blue on each side in the SM and the Hatch and SM. I have watched almost all your videos on the Pathfinder, and THANK YOU! Learned a lot, but I haven't noticed this touched on yet. I'll keep looking. Thanks for any help!

Can you flash non FS products with pathfinder if the light is set to steadyburn? So an ion or mpower set to steady for example.
@Code3Indiana
@Code3Indiana Жыл бұрын
If you tie it to a trigger or sliding switch it'll flash, the "flash patterns" built into the pathfinder are for the FS products that are steadyburn and require an external flasher. So yes you can use other brands lights. They should in theory work if you use a steadyburn mwpower or ion.

If the ILS is FSJoin then you you need to check to see if you have the correct colors detected and selected. Otherwise, if it's an older system then it's pre-programed from the factory and you won't have full/total control over the system.

So that kinda isn’t the sweep. That’s just the transfer for what I am understanding in the video. There is in-depth programming to make the Pathfinder act like a SS2000 where it steps through the siren tones and you can have the buttons switch as well. It’s in the manual itself when they published it. That way hitting the horn will advance to the next tone, and that button will light up, and then next horn press will go to next tone with that button lighting up. To get sweep what I did was make the button a step, with a virtual input of a timer. Assigned the siren tones to each step I want them on, and then assign a timer where it advances to the next tone after 8 seconds. What I did was make it mimic the Unitrol TouchMaster Sweep, a true sweep, where it would cycle the tones every 8 seconds over and over. So I would have wail (maybe a different wail then I had for my wail button), yelp, and ultra Hilo. So when that button was pressed it would cycle through all the tones over and over until a different siren tone was selected, or it was turned off. But you can set up the Pathfinder how you did, without dedicating a button for the horn ring advance. It’s buried in the training section of the programming guide, but there is a section on having the Pathfinder act like a SS2000 when cycling siren tones using the horn ring.

I already have programming installed on my pathfinder system. Is there a way to save the original configuration before I start to change flash patterns and such. Basically, I wanted a default original program to bring it back to stock that I could install later if patrol car is traded in.

Hi, I'm a little confused with your question since it seems like you're requesting two different things. If you wish to save a copy of your current configuration you would just go to "Device" -> "Read Device Configuration" then you would go to "File" -> "Save As", which will preserve your current programing. If you wish to start over as if you were unboxing the Pathfinder for the first time you have two options. You can go to "System" -> "Default Configuration" which will reset the pathfinder to a basic default configuration. You could also go to "System" -> "Blank Configuration" Let me know if you require additional help.

Been following you on the FB programmers group. I don't have facebook, so obviously it makes it hard to comment back and interact on that board. Let's see if you and that board can help me out I've been running my system for about a month now with no issues, dual tone pf200 with external amp triggered by relay six. For technical info only the rumbler is hooked to channel 2 speaker in my setup so it will rumble whatever speaker 2 is doing. It's fed by 8g power and battery ground to a fed sig pathfinder pdu. The 30amp virtual fuse on output 1 is set to 15amps and is fed to the rumbler amp power with 16g. Ground was originally in the 30amp max ground output of the pdu I did move it to the common terminal of the battery ground during troubleshooting. No other power hungry equipment on the pdu and all my warning lights are led, the biger two are an ils and cnsm. Last week I noticed at the peak of my unitrol wail that the rumbler became garbled. It happened on all my tones that involve wail including manual. Couldn't quite tell if it was happening in yelp or futura but I think it was just not nearly as noticable. This was coming out of both rumbler speakers. I checked all my connections and all are good. I reprogrammed ssp wail and it does the same. I also programmed an old file with only one or two things on it and checked to see if it was doing it. Yesterday I dropped one of my siren speakers in my wiring rerouted it and reprogrammed to use the internal rumbler to ensure it wasn't my speakers. Everything works perfectly fine with one 100 watt speaker and the 2 rumbler speakers working off rumbler tones of the PF. I spoke to fedsig technical support before I did all this just to make sure my wiring was correct since the rumbler manual only shows how to hook up to an ssp style wiring with the two speaker leads connected in phase to the 2 speakers rather than the PF style 4 speaker leads two for each. Tech support said it was wired correctly, recommended I move my ground for the rumbler amp off the pdu ground port and onto the main incoming ground. That did not fix the problem. Today I went back to trouble shoot again and hooked back up the external amp with the intent on trying a blank programming file with only relay 6 and wail on the program. Now the rumbler does not work at all. Confirmed with diagnostics in the software, so I'm wondering if my amp is at its end of life? Amp is is rumbler-2 with date code of 15238 so I doubt when I call them tomorrow it will be in date for repair. I do have a video I'll upload and link to the problem before I lost the rumbler functioning all together today.

@Coplites 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply! I finally just had time to read your comment and watch your video. So as Federal Signal has said, did you ensure your wiring is correct? Incorrect wiring of the rumbler can damage it and the primary siren. I've seen rumblers last longer than 5 years, but that's assuming it has been wired correctly. www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj-w7OXobD4AhWwK0QIHR-MCBwQFnoECAkQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fedsig.com%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2Fresource_library_document%2FInstall%2520Manual%2520Rumbler%2520Amplifier%2520l%25202562420.pdf&usg=AOvVaw0Jz2i1d4QevejclApNHawB

@Coplites Not a problem. Thanks for getting back to me. It was working perfectly fine for a couple months. Talked to them again yesterday and hooked the rumbler back one more time and reprogrammed. I did successfully get to try that blank program with only relay 6 and wail on the program. The amp worked today but the same result. Confirmed everything is in place according to directions including striped black going to speaker side and solid going to amp side. Checked connections on the terminal strip and even ommited the terminal strip just in case and threw in some butt connectors. Same garble. They said they'd look at it so I'm planning on sending it in. It's definitely out of date so I'll let you know what they say.

I was under the impression that the pathfinder can handle two speakers or one speaker and one rumbler without an external amplifier. Is it possible to have one rumbler and 2 speakers and program it to where you have dual tone as the primary for siren output but when activating the rumbler it cuts speaker 2 so there is enough power from the internal amp?
@Coplites
@Coplites 2 жыл бұрын
In your example it is not without having an external rumbler amp. You can only power one normal 100 watt speaker, and two rumblers on the second channel, you CAN NOT run two 100 watt speakers and a rumbler without an external amp. Pathfinder Instructions - "The Pathfinder PF200 can drive one or two 11-ohm impedance, 100-watt speakers. The two 11-ohm impedance, 100-watt speakers have separate wires that allow the Pathfinder to provide dual siren tones. Alternatively, the Pathfinder can drive one 11-ohm impedance, 100-watt speaker on one channel, and two Rumbler speakers on the second channel to provide Rumbler integration without the need for a secondary external amplifier."

Just curious about the PA input...some agencies, (like the LAPD, for example), don't use a separate PA mic, but use the Radio mic as a PA mic when the PA function is enabled on the control head. Would the Local PA input still be needed for something like that?

Oh, something else that I thought of: on the older Smart Siren and Smart Siren Vision controllers, they had a "Press and Hold" feature where if you press down on the steering wheel horn ring with SS3 on and on a siren tone other than Wail, it would sound the Air Horn. Do you know if it's possible to do that with the Pathfinder?

So, if I'm understanding this correctly...when you have the slide switch on position 3 and you press the horn ring button once, does it automatically go to sweeping through the siren tones or does it go to Wail first and then sweeps upon a second press of the horn ring button?
@Coplites
@Coplites 3 жыл бұрын
Per this video, when you have the slide switch to position 3 it will not do anything unless you physically press B9 (Siren Sweep) or honk the horn once. It will automatically sweep through all the sirens you have selected, in this case it would be SSP Wail first but in 8 seconds it will switch automatically to the next step. If you want to manually skip one of the steps you can do so by pressing B9 (Siren Sweep) once which will automatically move to the next step, or you can press the horn once and it will automatically move to the next step. The only way to disable the siren sweep is to either move the Slide Switch to another position that is not 3 or double press B9 (Siren Sweep). Let me know if this answers your questions.

@@Coplites regarding to turning the siren off with out pressing buttons multiple times, couldn't you just designate a "standby/reset" button to deactivate all siren tones with one press?
@Coplites
@Coplites 3 жыл бұрын
@@chpman2013 Yes you could. You could create a new button that actually has no function except as a momentary (or a push on/off). Then make all sirens dependent to that button in the off position so as soon as you press it, it turns off all the sirens. At the end of the day you're still pressing a button and for the most part you can only make one speaker at a time play a siren so I think that making a button that turns off all the sirens could be pointless unless you just want to have one button that turns off everything without having to press any other button. I suppose that would just be a convenience thing.
