No matter what I do I am trapped. Pointless discussing self care

We hear you, and understand how overwhelming it can feel when you're stuck in that cycle. It's okay to feel trapped at times, but please know that you're not alone. Even though self-care may seem pointless right now, taking small steps can make a difference.

I wanted to thank both Emma and Kate for this wonderfully helpful and caring webinar. I knew I had to miss it but so glad it’s here to watch when I can. There is such a need for this quality help and support! Thank you again so much. I could practically write a book on just my experiences as a care-giver and the lack of support if we don’t know where or how to find it, would mean my first book may be not truly helpful. Now I think I can begin truly looking after myself as I continue looking after my loved one.

UBC pharmacy is biased. Not for the benefit of the patient but rather on the side of pharmaseutical companies and will not give you postive or unheard information input on malnutrition for elderly.

3:48 We get caught up in doing, instead of being. DOING mode: in automatic mode working through things in my mind focus on past/future avoid or bypass the unpleasant want things to be different get attached to my own perspective (rigid) prioritize attaining goal. BEING mode: (come home to your body/breath) I have conscious choice experience my senses/emotions curious and interest in experiences (not so rigid) accept things as they already are (even if unpleasant) thoughts are mental events, not facts feel the body

I really appreciate that this speaker frankly stated that there ARE often times when we can’t get our needs met, because the needs of the other person are greater/more urgent.
