The car’s condition is superb however, I don’t like the design of 79-86 era mustangs. Not as handsome as 69 mustang boss 429. Best mustang ever. Thanks for the video sir !

I remember seeing these things on the road back in the 80s . I also remembered that Direct Connection had a supercharger kit for the 2.2 . CarCraft magazine did a test of one these Rampages equipped with this kit 😊

My sister had a new Turismo 2.2 5 speed like that,well the hatchback..Had the Shelby Charger ground effects package and a non turbo 2.2 H.O with 110 hp,it was quick 5 seconds to 50 mph as advertised ,high 7 to 8 flat from 0-60 mph quick for an 80's even early 90's car. Reliable car,she had 250,000 when she sold it in 1997,she kept it 12 years,I changed the timing belt every 100,000 miles and rebuilt the carburetor,.New clutch between 150,000 to 200,000 miles cant remember but reliable and they drove really good,no rattles,solid .
@MikeekiM-vh5seАй бұрын
I owned 3 of these in the 90's..I bought and sold cars and I liked 80's Chrysler products they were reliable and sold really well in my area..Plus when you buy the same make you know the problem areas and when you look at them you can pass on the problematic ones.I did buy all makes but majority were Chrysler vehicles,like I said they sold fast here! I stuck with Chrysler as I daily drove 60's and 70's big block Chrysler cars and so I stuck with Chrysler..My 68 Charger R/T clone aka added a 440 and Rt badge on grille/charger rt on real panel also in the 90's I had a daily driver 70 Sport Satelitte 383 hp 4bbl,66 Chrysler 300 with a 440 TNT (still have the charger and 300 and oddly an 87 Shadow ES turbo coupe ..

And no matter how you talk it up, it’s still an automatic. You have to drive real sportscars and that includes stirring the 5 speed MANUAL transmission.

At this point With these cars From the 80's now 40 years old To have survived and not be destroyed is an understatement, nobody drives the balls off these things anymore or hammers the piss out of them every Saturday night like we used to do, clean survivors that have made it this long now just basically becoming collector cars for guys that couldn't afford them when they were new or they were like in junior high school when the car came out now they've moved to a point in their life that they can't afford the car that they've always wanted when they were 16 years old, that's where the stuff is gone this car here represents that type of vehicle

Correction: I have a 1980 Datson 4x4 Kingcab. Which means 4x4 was available in 1980. With no engine differences until at least 1986, that i can see.

That is nice! I had a black '86 just like it. Only thing different on mine is I didn't have those seats. I bought mine in January of '89, had 9,000 miles on it. I had it till the fall of '94. I put a 120,000 miles on it and traded it for my first minivan. My 4th kid was on the way and it was our only vehicle. Had minivans for 26 years after that!😮

I liked these. The R bodies had a lot of haters and didn’t sell well (as you note), but I found them attractive and still do. The rear doors are either unique or awkward, depending upon your perspective. Today this car looks huge but it was were obviously far smaller than the C body that preceded it. The M-body Fifth Avenue that followed could never hide its Valiant and Volaré roots.

I had in 1979. I traded a 1969 Chrysler Imperial. I don't remember much about the car. It beeped on the sounds. Fond memories. I had power locks, and power truck in glove box.
