43:10 of the video you answered a question in relation to note taking. what would you recommend more for note taking (tablet or book)? one of the key things I struggled at in year 11 was having my notes everywhere (both digital and on paper) which made it harder to collect and revise later on

I’d say tablet. Easier for later modifications

when you said 6-8 hours on the weekend 41:52 did you mean per day e.g 6 on Sunday and 6 on Saturday or 3 each day giving a total of 6?

hey so i'm currently in year 11, I want to finish the entire syllabus for at least 2 out of 5 of my ATAR classes during the summer holidays, so I can just treat those classes as revision during year 12. Btw I would also complete full past exams and revision booklets on the subjects too. Would you recommend me to do that? I've noticed that I work a lot better without pressure, and I feel like this is the best way to make year 12 a little easier for me.

Hi Luqman, thanks for the video. What am I doing to separate myself? - Wake up at 6:30am and focus on myself, by meditating at least 10 minutes every morning. - Complete a maths practice test in the morning (to help curb down my recurring habit silly mistakes) - Read on the bus - Use time in ‘useless’ year 10 subjects (ones that won’t affect my VCE subjects) to complete shallow tasks and homework (involves sacrificing grades for those subjects) - Fake ‘sick’ for useless excursions/school events and use that ‘extra’ day to get ahead of my competitors - Instead of completing selected textbook questions on challenging topics as assigned by the teacher, I complete all the questions for extra practice. - Begin memorising quotes, themes, authorial verbs and structural features well before the assessment notification - Use the weekends to watch Khan Academy maths videos and get ahead on the topics - Only check social media and short form content in those 'short empty gaps’, such as waiting for the bus. Thanks for the video, certainly very inspiring, and prompting me to think of the above.

Hi. If you see this, I'm past my internals..I messed up my trials. But the rest of my internals are more or less decent mid ranks, but the 15% of trials is going to drag me down. I want to get an 80 plus ATAR, is it possible for me to achieve that by doing well in finals and compensating for the loss in marks?

Ehhhh not really. Been disproved hundreds of times. Some people just can't process certain information. Me for example, I excel in all my subjects. VCE psychology, English, Humanities, history, power & politics, all extremely high marks. But in maths I can't process that information right no matter how hard i study. Doesn't mean im stupid, just can't quite process that information.
@LuqmanArab
@LuqmanArab Ай бұрын
I disagree with what you've said. Based off of the way you've written your response, you're suffering from: 1. Poor Mindset 2. Poor methods. Let's start with your mindset. You've literally just labelled yourself as someone who 'can't process information no matter how hard I study'. This self-labelling is extremely dangerous as it's now formed your belief system. Do you know what this means? This means that every action you take must align with your belief that you're bad in maths, and thus, you'll never be able to excel (unless you change this mindset). If you ever do find the information to be easy in maths, your brain will find a way to make it hard for you, because your belief is that 'I am bad at maths and can't process info.'. Also, with this mindset you have, you've now limited yourself subconciously by accepting that no matter what you do, you won't improve. This ultimately means that you won't put in the necessary effort to actually change yourself, thus, never changing. Regarding methods, this one is obvious. If you're studying, thinking, learning and approaching the subject of maths wrong in the first place...of course you won't be able to process information. I hope this helps you and opens up your mind. P.S. How do I know all this? I used to be like you my friend. I got C's and D's in maths all my life from the start of primary school. I used to think exactly like you did. However, once I changed my mindset and methods...I became a straight-A student in maths :)

Should I study every subject every day or not?
@LuqmanArab
@LuqmanArab Ай бұрын
@@ninjagoose no, that’s way too much. I’d say max 3 a day. Make sure you’re addressing each subject at lead once every 3 days. Do maths 5 days a week.

@@LuqmanArab why NOT every day? and why maths more?
@LuqmanArab
@LuqmanArab Ай бұрын
@@ninjagoose You won't be able to study 5 to 6 subjects per day effectively. Your focus will be too scattered. You should do maths more because it's like a skill - in order to improve, you must practice regularly.
