That green stuff malachite. Both malachite and apatite mineral rock is found there. Also some beautiful stag glass in many different colours can be found in on that hill 😊

Hi Carl, thanks for the video. Question. Why does the DCDC charger not activate when the car is on and turn off when car is stopped as it would if you installed it under the hood of a car? The only difference I can think of is they don't share a common ground point? Cheers

Because it is not in the car it does not get a positive trigger when you turn the ignition key, so that is why I provide the trigger when I want the charger to work. You could of course run a trigger from the car to the caravan to make it as it would be under the bonnet. Thanks for the watch.

Thanks for all the comments here,I'll look at more reviews now before making final decision. I have a old polaris mapping unit that I love and still use (8-9 yrs old now and still working) I'm looking to upgrade to the full headunit, as far as glare, in all fairness even the original head unit has that problem, I drive multiple vehicles in my field of work and it seems to be a common problem. I think it more a case of the angel they are mounted at in the dash. And GPS will always drop out in tunnels if they are long or go deep enough into the ground,

Yes the main problem in the Patrol is the dash where the unit is is very flat would be nice if it was tilted up a bit would help, also I do think they could have used a better screen to view in daylight smartphones are better. On another note since I went back to Polaris in that video and they worked on it has been no more problems.

Yes it turned out right after some bugs got ironed out ,was a stab in the dark when we were locked down in COVID getting from Old , did 3000k last year on a lot of dirt no problems. The fridge so much better than those 3 way units which I have had before 4 deg all the time

Driving through tunnels will cause your unit to loose gps . Not rocket science.. Why is it always someone elses problem. My opinion... You will never find a unit that will not have some kind of glair.. Did you end up going with a different unit and if so is it any better.

Dont bother with the bigger screen I have it in my cruiser 80 amd it has same problems as yours drops out all the time, not as bad as it was because i had a soft wear update but the mic on it is crap people cant hear me speak on it. A mate of mine hated it so much he put his pioneer 1 back in less then half the price and a lot clearer.Is it worth the $900 there asking no i dont think so. My opion is get somethink else

Well in my case the Patrol rides nicely with 10 psi in the bags but also I have three draws full of gear plus a fridge in the back so all up the car weights nearly 3 tonnes

Hi Carl, was about to mount a kings winch of the same dimensions on and with no rope on the drum it looked way to low in the normal mount position on the bar to where the fairlead would be . Have you had a chance to use the winch yet, had any trouble when spooled out lots of rope with it pulling on too much of an angle from the fairlead to the winch ? Cheers.

I think you are looking at the instructions where they tell you how to mount same as mine which makes the rope come off the drum at the bottom, even though they tell you not to I turned it upside down so the rope comes straight out of the fair lead not sure if I explained in the video. The rope on mine comes out 600mm above the ground and yes I did a test using most of the rope pulling uphill 3 ton Patrol worked fine !

Thanks for the review Carl. Even though you didn't buy the unit or have the unit fitted by us, we still have bent over backwards to help you with the "issue" you were having & it turned out to be an issue with the way you wired it up as explained by our tech on the day you came to see us. I can guarantee if you go with another brand of head unit you won't get this kind of after sales service which is something we pride ourselves on. Also if you had come to us directly we would have explained that there were 2 types of units available to fit the Patrol.

Yes in hindsight that would have been a better alternative, going to a dealer I had used before was a mistake he gave me bad advice. Problem was at the time I did not know what to choose so that is why I went that way, should have done more research! And the connection, after a phone call to you whoever I spoke to advised to connect they way I did! As far as they after sales service it is second to none I must say now some time has passed.

Also as a final thought let me say after taking a 3000 Km trip the unit still is not without some software issues still the original fault albeit now somewhat minor
