Absolute pile of garbage car. Had it for two years and 13k miles, payed $19,000 with interest only get 75 miles on a good day when it was advertised at 90-hwy / 110 city. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR

I rented a 4dr; Smart car, a (Four for Four), in Livorno, Italy in 2005 & it ran well with four adults in it! (They never came to the U.S., I think) Because of this, I went to my local dealership on open- ing day to test drive the smaller version but was unimpressed! However, an electric version should have been a success, except for that very poor mileage amount between charges! Too bad!

Sadly, the Smart E-car is about 10-years too late! There was a time, before Tesla, when Americans would have gone for this little car ... but, that time has passed. (68-miles per charge is NOT enough.) The gas models were quirky and that reputation has been inherited. Oh yeah ... just TRY to get parts for these, because Smart dealers are almost completely gone. Welcome to "ordering from Europe!" I suppose if you really wanted a city car like this, the Leaf would be a much better option.
