I own one of these! 1979 F40BLD it was a gift from a family friend when I was 14 (now 28) and didn't realize what I had for so long (neither did they, it just sat in their closet). So cool to see more of these out there!

My G37 has an internal pickup with the plug in built into the strap knob. I presumed they were all acoustic electric. Is that not the case?

If this guitar was in England - I would probably buy it.

I have a 1979 version (F212XL NT) of this chime cannon. Wonderful tone.
@gillesserrigny63244 ай бұрын
The Guild F212 XL is a little bit bigger with more bass. It's a very good 12 strings, but the end of the 60's is the golden age for the twelve strings Guild.

A most iconic 12 string ..I believe Ralph Towner started with the F212 in the beginning of his career. It has a small body but true to Guilds sound it delivers a big bold bass and clarity..built to be played..a true original.
@Fledermausman Жыл бұрын
Well, small ... it's actually slightly wider than a dreadnought in the lower bout. But they're marvelous guitars; I have one of these, also 1968, made in Hoboken (Guild's "golden era"), probably the best thing out of there since Sinatra! : )

I'm caught between the D40 & the D55. ! Any suggestions ?
@weihuafischer6538 Жыл бұрын
@@SMC84601 That's a tough question. There is a big difference in price. If you can afford the D55 that might be your best option because if your get the D40 you might always be wondering if you should've have gone one step further. No matter what you choose, you will always have a quality great sounding guitar.

I have a Daion '78 Heritage purchased in 1978. Better build and sound than my Gibson J45 Custom. Beautiful instrument. They went the extra mile in terms of quality - probably too far and went bust in 1984.
