I just received my synchrodyne extension, so your tutorial is particularly welcome!

There's this thing with math teachers and most people that have a strong understanding of things, and that's that ironically, once you understand a concept to a deep level, you lose your ability to relay the information to others. As if your past self lacking the understanding yet still grasping the perspective and capacity of explanation of a beginner is lost the moment the understanding becomes second nature. Thankfully for you, you do not suffer of this, and I truly truly appreciate the way you teach because I got the shared system and up until now, I was going to use the Wogglebug as toilet paper, and then you told me there's a ringmod on it and all this other fun stuff. Thank you, ill just use charming instead.

If I'm using a gate from my Keystep Pro, which only has one gate out per track, can I use one of double cables from one gate output for the two gates into both Trigger inputs on Maths?

I have all but the Dynamix and I agree with everything you said here. I'd probably put the RxMx ahead of the LxD when FxDf is added. Regardless, Optomix is my favorite LPG for sure.. its highly underrated imo

I think I've come back to this video a few times since I got sucked into the wormhole of modular in early pre-covid 2020.... that said, I'm now revisiting this having scored an lxd after a few years wait from the most recent subtle roll out which I hope opens a wider dispersal as I think this is an incredible wet yer feet yet highly versatile module. the ranking at the end is !!!!!! spot on!

Hello Mr Hermbot. I’ve enjoyed your tutorials and demystifications. I see you’ve stopped making them which is understandable - I’m sure they are a lot of work. But thanks very much for those you have made. I’ve learned a lot and will learn more when I watch them again. Cheers 👋

So one needs to memorize the function of 4 banks of 16 encoders-64 in total-to get full functionality with this? Was it too much to ask for the manufacturer to at least leave room to stick a label next to the knobs?

Doing this all in Serge, whether through CGS, Random Source, or whatever: combine slopes with a "processor" for attenuverting and mixing, and "peak & trough" for min/max.

Along with DUSG, another Maths ancestor is the Buchla 281 quad function generator. It's been available as a DIY project since before Maths existed, IIRC it might have been Toppobrillo's first offering. For Eurorack people often build single or double instead of quad.

15:00 Your 1 octave up (double frequency) triangle wave plot has its fundamental lining up with the 1st harmonic of the previous lower pitch triangle wave. The harmonics of a triangle wave are ODD multiples of the fundamental, 3x 5x 7x etc, not 2x as in your plot.

Hi there! Thank you for making this great and comprehensive video. Would I be right assuming that I'd be able to assign SysEx messages to those knobs so that I could control a hardware synth (such as a JD-Xi for example) and save deep-diving menus?
@ambidex Жыл бұрын
@Mountain It's a completely reasonable question. There's no reason to assume that a USB "Midi controller" couldn't send sysex as that was the original way to send Midi control info. Many controllers can have been able to do this, even USB based ones. But they're getting harder and harder to find, and even when they do support sysex it's often not known until you have one in your hands. No offense, but I'm going to take it from your response that you don't know. I'd like to find something like this (and with sysex support) to use as a Midi controller for my JDXi, too.

"Finally, we have the RxMx, which is basically 50 vactrols put into a plastic bag and duct-taped to a PCB" got the loudest involuntary snort of any line I've heard in a Eurorack demo video. Well done.
