So sad Marlins ownership couldn't keep this team together for a few more years... cheap ownership has been the downfall of this franchise since this World Series...

I remember I was a little kid during this game. I think I was 4 or 5. I was in my little Bears uniform and my dad and grandparents were in the other room thinking the game was over and I ran in there after the Mike Brown pick 6 yelling the Bears win the Bears win. Those were the good old days when they came back in crazy ways instead of blow it in crazy ways

2003 now seems like a very distant era in baseball. Today, if my team goes into the 8th inning of a LCS game with a 3-run lead, I'm feeling much better than the other side, but nowhere near certain my team can hold that lead. Home runs have increased in the last 20 years, and any team that makes it to the LCS is going to have some power hitters. A walk and a single brings the tying run to the plate. And then just one hittable pitch might end up in the seats and that lead is gone.

2:39:04 - Broadcasters agree Prior is fine and there's no need for any activity in the Cubs bullpen. "His stuff is the same." says Al Leiter. 2:44:17 - Five pitches later - "There's not nearly as much break on the breaking balls this inning as we had seen earlier in the ballgame...."

I was at my Auntie's house in Brighton, Alabama with my Cousins Romeo, Jamaal, and Munchie. Cutting the Grass in the Front Yard, and Back Yard, then playing Nintendo GameCube all day.

Believe the next game was the Derrek Lee broken wrist game. Completely ended any hope for that team going anywhere after that happened.

Bartman did not mess up the game for the Cubs the Chicago cubs are the one's who messed it up instead of focusing on the game they just kept on thinking about the interference instead of brushing it on they kept dwelling over it

Not only did the Marlins beat the Cubs - more incredibly they beat the DYNASTY Yankees in the World Series. Yanks had been to 5 Series in 7 years won 4. And btw - Bartman had absolutely nothing to do with the Cubs losing the damn series. They shit the bed in that inning they gave up 8 runs and they shit the bed at home in G7. Typical of a losing franchise blaming some nonsense for losing. Like the Red Sox blaming Babe Ruth for 90 years.

Thanks for this channel. Always great to watch old Cubs games. I don't know if you take requests or not but do you have the Dodgers Cubs game from August 31, 2005? Derek Lowe pitched a near no hitter that day. Thank you again for uploading these old games!

I remember watching one of the games from this series with my grandpa. When Damon caught a ball in the outfield my grandpa called him Jesus because of his long hair. Johnny Damon became one of my favorite players since then because of that lol. I miss these days...
