In this lesson, your CEG are different tones than on the piano. The piano tones are FAC. Why? Thx.

That's because the horn is a transposition instrument. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transposing_instrument

Thank you 😊 My band needs 4 French horns and there are 6, so we are getting tested by blowing through the mouthpiece ❤.

Omg these are the best videos because everyone else isn't specific. I'm coming from clarinet to this because I love the horn. I have autism so I learn slower and I need clear instructions and this is amazing!

Your Videos are great! I am on the path …. I started blowing Fürst Pless hunting horn some months ago and feel becoming hungry for more …. I am used to learn instruments by self studying approach - but The opportunity to book single lessons to prevent to loose the track is pushing my effort to look seriously for a appropriate horn …. Sincerly klaus

I have 2 questions since I just began playing a few weeks ago. I kind of flew through the first few videos because I'm a trumpet player and how to produce a sound is easy, just difficult to always hit the right pitch. Anyway, 1. I've been told not to rest the bell on my leg because it affects the sound and 2. I have a double horn and I have trouble with my middle finger and ring finger sliding down, particularly when I'm using the trigger and going from D (T12) to C# (T23.) any suggestions and does that piece attached to your lead pipe help?

Hi! Are you still giving lessons? My son learned more from your videos than he has any other way, in class or with a tutor. If you're still giving lessons, please let me know.

Thanks for sharing! I'm a professional trumpet player and I'm thinking about trying the invisalign. I'm still very afraid of how I'm gonna sound, so I'm still just reading and watching the testimonials from people who already got it. PS. I loved the BvS poster on the wall! 😁

Holy canoli, thank you! I played flute YEARS ago in middle and high school (and was pretty good!) But decided after 24 years to learn French Horn. These videos have been wildly helpful and I'll definitely repeat this one before moving to Lesson 4. Thank you again. These videos are wonderful!

I am a blind person, I never got a chance to really check out an instrument like that, so can you show me what the lowest note sounds like on the French horn and tell me how you did it?

Thank you for this video. I’m a brass teacher and I’m thinking about starting the process with Invisalign. Good idea to leave them in with younger students and take them out when playing more advanced stuff. Now I’m curious, how did it go? What are your thoughts today about using invicible braces?
