Don't we have Typescript to deal with types? When I saw "ReasonML", I expected to see a cool language based on purely functional programming, or logical programming in a Prolog style, or something that is related to machine learning (because of the "ML" in "ReasonML") or something exotic and interesting, but you have spent the whole video talking about... Typescript. A bit disappointing, don't you think?

Moreover, in your example where you relate sizes to prices, it could be done in a very simple way using a plain JS map, without so many levels of indentation and fireworks. If you want to sell your book, I recommend focusing on the real benefits of your (functional?) language and what makes it unique. Until now you have just talked about the benefits of using Typescript and how to overcomplicate JS maps unnecessarily using Typescript.

ANTLR is one of the most powerful tools developers have available to them but few have bothered to master it. ANTLR has allowed me to solve amazingly difficult problems on three projects and has made me look like a hero. Thank you Dr. Parr. I hope all is well with you at Google.

Nice intro and very very noteworthy language. I would argue that pattern matching doesn’t eliminate “conditional logic”, rather its a different way than “if statements “ to express conditional logic, a more readable way IMO.

One of my favorite books of all time. A gem from my library. 'Programming Machine Learning: From Coding to Deep Learning' by Paolo Perrotta is simply wonderful. Thanks, Master. What about another book on AI ? :)

I'm new to Elixir but enjoying it tremendously so far, and I have a lot of fun working with metaprogramming, but I'm not sure why you would want a while loop in a language that was designed to be predominantly functional in its paradigm? Maybe I'm missing something?

It’s crazy that I came across this video. I didn’t even think that Scala Native would be an option for systems programming. Especially since a lot of Java job posts didn’t seem to mention “Java native”
