Why does the gas output drop from 56,000 homes to 4,000 homes in winter? Feedstick storage or temperature?
@paulverse4587 Жыл бұрын
I suppose because homes in winter require significantly more heating than in summer. So because the consumption / home increases, not because the production decreases.

@@paulverse4587 thanks. Just emphasises the importance of home insulation.

Why is the biogas made into electricity. Why is it not pumped to the grid as gas?
@sebastienbourdeau42693 жыл бұрын
How much did this cost to build?

So you're injectin oxygen in the digestive tank

CNG engines from Iveco and Scania these days. That footprint should be zero soon. Especially if you’re still running the CHP for electric with Faresin/Volvo & Manitou making great progress on electric handlers/loaders. And Kramer with the 25.5eFL. Won’t be long til a 5tn lift loader is available on CNG.

How can you guaranteed that oxygen in biogas is not exceed the limit of biomethane to grid plant ?

Bio gas is a good idea if it does not compete with food crops.

So this plant requires around 25,000 tonnes of maize a year. This maize has to be sown, fertilised, probably sprayed, harvested and then transported from the farm to the plant. That's an awful lot of diesel fuel: not very green so Is it really worth it? Presumably there are big subsidies here: surely it could never pay otherwise! Will it take kitchen food waste?
@johntopp82666 жыл бұрын
deltamac this is certainly not green!! At the end of the day you can't blame the Farmer if the price of wheat is going to stay down this looks a better option!
@anaerobicdigestion3 жыл бұрын
@@johntopp8266 Don't forget that although they use maize waste. If you look at the video they will be selling the cobs for food before they use the rest of the maize foliage and stems. The diesel used to do this will be minimal extra beyond what would be used to grow the food part of the crop. This is in fact very green.
@udaysheorey1490 Жыл бұрын
surely all the ic engines used for farm-mechanisation could be converted to use the locally generated "green" CBG (compressed bio-gas) instead of imported "dirty" diesel ?
@matthewlardner5328 Жыл бұрын
nope, they forage the whole plant 👎🏻

next phase needs to be all toilets of the village replaced by vacuum toilets (only need 0.5 ltr of water) collect all human waste and ferment it in the AD. No waste water treatment plant needed any more and no need for energy for the WWTP
@DMTtechnologies8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your idea @tim4hout. Yes, many good ideas can be added to keep Poundbury in the forefront of sustainable villages indeed. For now: our CarborexMS runs very well and creates greengas for households in the villages around Poundbury, out of waste such as potatoes and cereals. Isn't that great? Kind regards!
@johntopp82666 жыл бұрын
tim4hout a wastewater treatment plant is already an AD they have gas to electric generators, so why wouldn't you need them anymore? This is nothing new waste water companies have been doing this for years.
