Jazakallahu khairan sheikh. Mashallah, very eloquent speech. I wish our scholars would actually connect the Quranic terms to the Biblical concepts whenever necessary. Because the Quran is just the continuation of the previous prophethood, it’s not a new innovation as mentioned in the verse. Especially the term “ummi” is a specific term used the Bible, namely “gentile” which refers to people other than the Jews in a specific sense. In a general sense gentile means a nation and it’s usable for every nation including the Jews. However in the context of the Hadith the Jews meant that he is the gentile prophet, for gentiles not for the Jews. As if they have choosing right against Allah. We have to make these connections with the Bible especially in that context whenever Quran is making some comments about it. Without that connection we will not have a fuller understanding.

Actually, someone told me that whenever wordly matters get overwhelming, doing dhikr in khalwah is the gateway, while seeking that moment you described as spiritual intoxication. Why sheikh? Why? There are soooo many occults in the the name of tasawuf in the ummah. My own family is the victim. Whatever The Allah and His Messenger named the Quran and Sunnah are enough for tazkiyah.
